Tell me what the game play mechanism

Its a puzzle adventure point and click game that you take on the role of an attorney who goes uncover behind crimes using evidence, cross-examination, and investigation trying to prove your client is not guilty in court, something like professor layton but added with the court game play mechanic.

Oh and bear with the texts in the game its a ton but could help in gameplay..

I'm interested want to know the storyline. I didn't like Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney it's kinda straying from the life that we know of Phoenix Wright. but haven't tried Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies though hhmmm.....
