Dear all,

Hyundai coupe Tiburon 2008/2009
user posted image

I'm interested in getting one of this rare unit in Malaysia. Can I have some advises from all pros or owners / ex-owners on :

- Is there any spare parts available for this rare model? Are they expensive?
- is there any commen failure or breakdowns for this model?

I just simply like the looking of this coupe, isn't too old of its look while still having an affordable price RM40k.

Would be appreciate if anyone can help me on this topic!

The fact that it's very cheap indicated that something could be the reason for that price. I think only parts is the problem. Might need to import since it's rare
*
Noted, that's true as its a rare model. But I have checked with a big parts supplier with the availability for the parts of this model and he told me they do supply for this model as some of the parts are sharing with Elantra and sonata?

Expensive part and kuat makan oil.. if this was honda, the price may around 70k.. but you can get 40k coz of logo H senget,,

Good car with exp maintenance

Thanks for your advise. Yea Hyundai isn't that preferable by Malaysian. But for the price of parts I'm still doubting as I've checked with one owner and 1 big part supplier in kl that supprisingly the parts availability is not that rare and expensive!

Hyundai / Kia old model are kuat makan petrol car

Oh.. Yea I heard so, probably most of the old model cars Makan minyak kuat. But if it's manufactured in year 2008/09, is it still consider an old model? I heard that some of the parts of this model are sharing with Elantra and sonata!

This car is known as Hyundai Coupe in Malaysia. Tiburon is US name. 2 versions prior to it was SCoupe. 1st version was garbage. 2nd was ok. This 3rd (this one) Coupe seems to be ok. Latest is Genesis coupe.

Also heard the engine was a fuel guzzler also. I doubt the engine parts are hard to find. Body panels very likely hard to find.
*
Ye I found out this in my later research. I guess their sales are bad for this model so that they stop producing this model. I guess most of the older model cars are a fuel guzzler, hard to avoid. Genesis coupe is nice but expensive 🙄.. I've checked with an owner and a parts supplier in kl, supprisingly they told me that they do supply for the parts of this model!

Anyway, I'm going to view this car very soon to find out the answer, thanks for your advises!

Good info you got there. How about the fc tho? hmm.gif
If it's a weekend car then fc shouldn't be bothered too much smile.gif
*
I don't think the fc will be good as it's an old model. It's not a weekend car 🙈
Well, as you said I think it's about give and take, with a low price's coupe, something should be sacrificed!

Appreciate your replies!

for parts, kindly check through "parts no" because nowaday most manufacturer sharing part between models of similar engine...

cosmetic parts is hard to come by but can be arrange from hyundai (expensive)...in my area theres alot of halfcut for korean cars...
*
yea that's what an owner of this model told me, with the part's no. We can get them in an easier way as some of it's parts are sharing with other models like Elantra.
A parts supplier in kl told me that nowadays Hyundai cars are getting more and more in Malaysia so parts shouldn't be an issue

Thanks for your sharing!

This car really2 my number one list when i was looking for a car last few years.. the rarity of the part at my place is the only reason why i didnt go for the car.. if you can find a shop that sell the spare part so why not buy the car..

The maintenance price not really that problem,, new 2.0cc car is around 100k-120k. If you buy tis car 40k, you still have 60k-80k spare ready to burn
*
Yea I understand your worried. But I believe nowadays Hyundai in Malaysia is having a higher demand than those days already ( as my researches told me )

Yea bro, I'm going to view the car real soon. I'll get myself an answer there smile.gif

Thankyou very much for your advises!
