I want to ask you FNF freaks here, what do you think of me changing my Accord to the new Mitsu Triton. I havent test drive it yet, maybe tomorrow, but im loving this stupid pickup! The front has a killer look, and just loving that ass. And im absolutely shocked when i see the price! I thought it would be around 130 to 150. When i visited mitsu website, its only Rm90k++!!

So, what do you think, take it or leave it?

what do you think of the engine? i was initially liking the Hilux, but after looking at Triton, its like beauty and the beast wacko.gif. right now, the reason why i like the triton is because of the exterior. for a pick up, its a real beauty! its a shame they dont have leather interior tho, hope its optional. going to check it out tomoro.

Well, since you thought it would be RM130k and now it's only RM90+k ... think of it this way. You could actually save that RM40k for petrol hehe

And changing from a 2.0 to a 2.5 can be a lot of change of petrol use ... so, use that RM40k all for petrol! It'll last you for quite long lol

I was surprised last time too when I heard that Mitsubishi Storm was selling below RM100k ... well, I guess 4x4 are generally cheaper than the other cars.

well, depends on wat u actually want u know..

do remember that its a big change, goin from a mid size comfortable saloon 2 a pickup truck.. ure also changing the type of fuel ure using.. besides consumption, diesel n petrol do give different feel (although modern diesel engines 2day r designed 2 perform like a petrol one, if not better.. but it still feels different somehow..), so test drive b4 u make any decision.. think it over properly..

also u must remember that, no matter how much the dealer claims that pickups 2day r as comfortable as a car, there is no way that would be true.. no pickup can offer the ride n handling of a normal car, thats 4 sure.. that is y a test drive is very very important so u can find out if these drawbacks r acceptable 2 u..

The Triton? I'd say go for it... provided you're ok with driving a 4x4. The ride won't be as smooth or comfy as a Accord though. Expect a 'bumpy' and 'floaty' drive...

Go for it, I was at Triton launch at KL Sentral. For the price and performance, it worth. It's running on Diesel btw. I have the catalogue scanned, pm me if you want it.

The reason 4x4 double cab pickup are so cheap is because there's not much tax on them as compared to cars or SUVs.

One good example, Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 pickup is around 90k, but the Ford Everest which is a SUV based on the Ranger's Chasis is around 150-160k just because of tax.

Next time you're in a showroom compared the price list between a 4x4 and a SUV/car, you will see the actual price of both are almost the same before the tax comes into the picture.

Try doing it at BSC parking lot. B*tching small compare to other parking lots in other shopping complex. I even have difficulties parking my Hyundai Sonata over there.

Worth it or not is really up to you, if you like it then whatever people say won't affect it, it's like buying a really expensive phone just because you like the way it looks.
Parking shouldn't be an issue if you are an experienced driver already, 1-2 weeks perhaps of getting used to the size and it's no problem anymore
