a bit weird that the vcore is high if that is default vcore. my vcore report higher i put default. i set 1.425v, it come out 1.488v. sweat.gif
*
That's normal, if you want to set it at 1.425V, you have to set it lower than what you've set in the bios, do it times & times again until the cpuz reports that the Vcore is true 1.425V [wait for 5minutes for the Vcore to be stable]

This doesn't happen to me while i'm using my Pentium 4 3.0E [Clocked at 4GHz] running on ASUS P4C800 E Deluxe thumbup.gif

The best motherboard i've ever had for an Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 processors thumbup.gif

coz tht is the best board for soc478, and is the last model
*
Who told you it's the best? laugh.gif
There's many more socket 478 motherboard that can beat that motherboard easily.

There's:
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
ASUS P4P800 E Deluxe
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
ASUS P4C800 E Deluxe

Abit IS7
Abit IC7
Abit IC7 Max 3

These are just a little numbers of the best motherboard for socket 478.

P4P800-X is the best?
I laugh out loud. laugh.gif

well lets see how long S478 rigs can last XD
*
It will last for a longer time if you put it to a good use.
Well, maybe most of them doesn't fit with new hardwares such as PCI-e cards and some other things, but then, you can still use your s478 rig until it's really really dead what? laugh.gif

Ahh, USUS Pentium 4 boards, tried most of their Intel 865 & 875 boards before, but none of them beat the performance of P4C800-E-Deluxe.
It's the best of the best of all USUS Pentium 4 boards. nod.gif

This is some of the USUS Pentium 4 boards i've tried:
P4P800
P4P800-X
P4P800-VM
P4P800-SE
P4P800-Deluxe
P4P800-E-Deluxe
P4C800
P4C800-Deluxe
P4C800-E-Deluxe

Now, to whom did i sold my P4P800-E-Deluxe & P4C800-E-Deluxe hmm.gif

Btw, i think my ram hit the wall already. I cant go beyod 230mhz. If beyond tat i cant prime stable. Almost get pc hang / system restart. I had rised my vdimm to 2.8v still the same thing happen. shakehead.gif
*
FYI, when i'm using all those motherboard that has "Deluxe" name on their motherboard, i manage to overclock my ram to 533MHz at only 2.8 volts. smile.gif

Stable Prime too.

I overclocked my Pentium 4 3.0E to 4GHz and the ram to 533MHz @ 2.8Volts.

And guess what type of ram i'm using that time.

Even if u have a very good ram such as those ram that uses BH-5 chipset but you coupled it with chapalang board, your ram won't oc much too,

One time when i have OCZ that uses BH-5 with the Ram Booster, i coupled it with P4P800-X, it won't work, oc just a lil bit only.
But when i change the board to other boards that has the "Deluxe" & "E-Deluxe" the Kingston Valueram oc sky high up to 533MHz [266MHz]! bruce.gif

what's important is your motherboard itself. smile.gif

Hey!
Look at the first page!
I'm still the highest at 4GHZ! laugh.gif

Too bad that time i don't run Super PI, else i could beat all the scores in the first page. sad.gif

Wah.. Even a cap palang ram can bring u up to 4Ghz? Gosh! Thats freak man! Haha! Hm.. I not really sure about my problems why i cant get beyond 230mhz! Guess probably will be PSU unit.. Was using the icute 450Watt typ! Not really a good UPS. Saving up to get a better one. laugh.gif
*
Oii, what the hell are you talking about man, that time i oc my 3.0E to 4GHz i'm using the ICute Twin Fan 450W psu also lar.
Chapalang PSU liao. laugh.gif

As i said earlier, it's teh motherboard itself.

So, what board are you getting from Ebay? hmm.gif

shocking.gif bro sHawTY is here?? laugh.gif long time no see you in this thread. haha

from what i see, those with E-deluxe perform the best. Looks like mobo itself is the most important to oc higher. hmm.gif nowonder i cant push mine beyond 3.3GHz. haiz......

btw...whats the max post in a thread?? this thread seems a bit overflow liao.....hoho.....the old and hot hot topic in LYN. hohoho.....
*
Owh well, i came to this thread because i miss my old socket 478 PC.
It's the easiest to overclock. Seriously.

You don't have to play with NB voltages, can oc kaw kaw with just the stock NB heatsink.
And best of all, i can oc my 3.0E kaw kaw with just using a crappy Kingston Valueram that uses crappy chipset, not even TCCD. laugh.gif

If i have a lot of money that time, i wouldn't want to sell my 3.0E, P4C800-E-Deluxe & the Kingston Valueram, i love em.
But then, that time i don't have good source of income, so i had to sell it to upgrade my system to LGA775 & PCI-e sad.gif

That time i have P4C800-E-Deluxe & P4C800 Deluxe.

Both boards are able to let me OC my 3.0E to 4GHz with just using valueram and chapalang Icute PSU.
No need to seek high performance ram and don't spend a lot of money to get good PSU.

I miss my socket 478 hardwares. sad.gif
