QUOTE
Individuals wishing to sell goods online must register with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) starting from next year.

Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Hamzah Zainuddin said his ministry was in the process of drafting regulations involving all sales of items, including one-offs.
"Even if it is only for selling one product such as a telephone online, it must be registered with SSM and the item needed to be sold within 30 days.

"If the item is not sold within 30 days, the seller will have to apply again for another 30 days period," he told reporters after officiating at the opening of the Constant Pharmacy branch yesterday.

Constant Pharmacy is collaborating with MyAngkasa, a subsidiary of Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa) and Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS) to supply health products and services to cooperative members.

According to Hamzah, the move was aimed at ensuring consumer rights were guaranteed and avoiding fraud for online transactions.

Meanwhile he wanted more pharmacies to be opened in the rural areas to enable the people to obtain health product supplies and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

He said it generated a total revenue worth RM48 billion (US$12 billion) for the country's healthcare market in 2014.

SSM could help in terms of loans to rural people who became pharmacists to set up their own pharmacy franchise, he said.

And how it can avoid fraud? Can I sue SSM if I still get conned?

Usually for those that is married, they will use their partner name if want to apply loan. The partner ( usually the wife ) will declare her income n do everything the proper way.

The man will usually under declare. Usually those that runs a business.

Thats y in most cases of taking bribe, it will be a man.

How to protect actually? People selling online now using M2U and transfer money. If the account is valid, you can easily catch the fraud, can't you? What if you register using other people name and IC?

It's not about preventing scammers. It's about taxing online businesses and maybe even making money via those registrations. As if the law has stopped scammers from scamming and as if serious actions have been taken against them. Look at those lowyat scammers still roaming about.

Its not registering company, its registering the "Product" you want to sell, thats why GG lazada.

Its either Lazada want to spend more money to implement an automated backend system for this or hire more people to process the registration.
Yea, more job opportunity, but its gonna kill off those SMEs.

As long u don't run like a business, should be ok. There are sellers doing business using personal names but don't declare taxes for example.

Looking at every opportunity to suck money.

to avoid fraud, purchase through a platform. Lazada, lelong, ebay, amazon, clickbank etc. And pay through paypal. Not cheap, but it's safe.

if buying from mudah, or syarikatahsengsdnbhd.com, always cod. Inspect the goods before handing over the money. Always ask for a receipt and sellers contact number

Only pipu like ironmaid would support such a move. You will never be able to regulate a blanket move to monitor all malaysians. especially if registration require them to go to the main office which cost patrol money, on an item that only generate rm6 bucks profit online.

Dumb gov hand gun shoot leg not enough now wan to use shotgun to shoot own leg.
