agree.

and SONAR was a good VR experience. 3 minutes story but file is 1.1GB.

really need some big file otherwise VR experience will be compromised  blink.gif

Thanks for the suggestion, downloading it now! I thought the highly recommended VRSE stuff, ROSE, Jurassic World, Cirque du Soleil were all kinda disappointing. I ripped a 360 video from YouTube and dumped it in my Milk VR too.

Saw the review and demo of it on YouTube. Looks really fun to use.

Best price that we could get it is at rm 459 at the moment?
*
I was scouting for a cheap one (people who got it with the roadshow or otherwise) for more than a week and found one. Try mudah.my etc.

Does it matter what speed my memory card is if I'm just saving photos and maybe putting some videos in it? I'm guessing the Samsung Pro microsds are only necessary for 4k recording?

anyone is enjoying the Gear VR with the S7E? read from XDA that the picture is really bad and blury. because of the screen resolution and the magnifying effect of the VR. thinking to get one.
*
I like it. I don't think the cardboard can possibly be better than the Gear VR, judging from what I've read. Sure, it's not super high-res because of the limitations of the phone itself, but it's still a good experience and some games are still quite immersive.

2nd hand unit? GemFive is selling at RM343 with HSBC discount code

Brand new, box was still sealed. I was thinking he got it from the roadshow, but I think he buys phones from SG and brings it over to sell, lol.

Definitely try Catatonic by VRSE for people playing with VR. With headphones.

I'm not short sighted. I guess I'm expecting the quality to be like EVF on camera.

I'm not the only one who found it blurry though, we were are Samsung's event and experiencing the Gear VR.

It's definitely not HD, but if adjusted properly and aligned correctly, it looks 'clear' but with a noticeable screendoor effect.

Both are the same.

Talk about the gear vr, I found this revieW
http://youtu.be/yPOKznaHZQw

Anyone with gear vr can try the Jurassic park app?
Does it really clear like what it show in the video?

Thanks in advance
*
It's very hard to show you how it looks like in a video, like showing you how a 3D movie in the cinema would look like on a normal 2D TV. Only way to know is to try it, but I guess display units don't have good demos. It's definitely not HD 720p/1080p or whatnot.

last nite was playing with VR for long eno. im done with it. for those just want to experience VR, google cardboard is eno biggrin.gif
u will be bored with it after couple days.
*
Eh, I disagree. Some people like playing games with the Gear VR (which from A LOT of comments that I've read, is a lot more immersive than VR Box). Stuff like Dreadhalls (horror game) is pretty immersive despite the limitations of the display. Some people like being able to simulate watching a movie in the cinema (imagine having a huge screen in front of you and you're in the cinema with seats all around you).

To each their own, I guess.

i mean dont waste money straight jumping to Oculus.
not much diff VR Box & Gear VR. same concept. im telling this bcos i can run Oculus app using VR Box. if ppl really into it, then buy Gear VR. else, VR box is suffice.
*
I think it's pretty unfair to say the VR Box and the Gear VR are similar. Judging from what I've read the VR Box has a significantly smaller FOV compared to the Gear VR, and if anything merely a google cardboard in a plastic case. The Gear VR isn't just an empty case with lenses on it; it has a custom inertial measurement unit for rotational tracking.

While google cardboard is an introduction to VR, it's no where near as immersive. (My cardboard arrived yesterday, lol)

My battery went down by 7% in 3 hours with 0 hours of direct usage (no screen-on time but active on whatsapp via web browser). It says Android OS took up 43% and Android system took up 29%. Doesn't seem normal to me ... any idea what I could do to further figure out what's happening?

You have use power-saving? As far as I know, without power saving, my phone can drop 6% in like 7 hours while I sleep (Night clock on, wifi/data OFF, Auto-Sync OFF)
*
Nope. My phone drops about 4% overnight (night click off, wifi on, auto-sync on (I think?))
