Bought Ideapad 700
Spec: i7-6700HQ, 4GB +8GB DDR4 Ram, GTX950M DDR3, 128GB PCIe SSD, 500GB HDD, 1920x1080 Matte Screen 15"
Usage: To replace desktop for designing work, not into gaming (gamers will look for >GTX960 anyway)
Notebook Criteria: 15" Matte Screen, Quadcore, Full Keyboard, Good Thermal Management, solid build
Previous notebook: Thinkpad T430 (i5 3210M, 8GB, 128GB sata SDD, 1366x768 14")
Consideration list before buying this: MSI GL62/CX62/PE60, Asus K501U, HP Pavilion 15, Thinkpad Edge series
Physical review:
1) made of plastic slim and medium solid (not as solid as business laptop).
2) design is plain and practical, somehow will attract some finger print
3) keyboard construction is solid, but it gives soft typing feel (not like thinkpad/steel series)
4) screen & color contrast is above average
5) speaker is loud and lack of bass
6) No Optical Drive
7) Battery life 2-3 hours
8) 2 years warranty
Thermal management (i like this the most)
1) very good.. no cooling pad needed.. in fact, the warmest is the PCIe SSD..
2) vent position below LCD hinge, 2 fan design
3) very silent under normal use, not noisy under full load
PCIe SSD Benchmark
