Back in the old days, this was what Apple said:

5.5" screen size is way too big. 4" is the perfect size.
Stylus is an abomination for smartphone and tablet. <-- i think they only say not for phone
AMOLED display is too bright and the color is too saturated.
Removable battery serves no purpose except to make phone thicker and heavier
SD slot is totally unnecessary except to make the phone less energy efficient and more prone to crash
Now reality check.

- Apple already makes 5.5" screen size phone
- Apple includes alternative input device aka stylus for their bigger iPad
- Apparently Apple is going to use AMOLED display in next iPhone

Soon, predictions:

- Sooner or later Apple is going to include removable battery and SD slot on their devices <-- chances very low due to their emphasis on their cloud storage for better iOS eco sharing among devices
- Eventually all Apple fanboys will be using devices in the future with features that Samsung already have back in 2011. <-- predict your arse bro, it is happening

in any industry, the gist of innovation is by doing reverse-engineering
on ur competitors' products and enhance it a little bit further.

it's not about who is copying who, but in the end who sells more,
and would be more prominent for giant companies like apple or samsung
(who spends some moolah on reverse engineering competitors' stuffs).
