The Eye of Rag dropped for my guild the 3rd time we ran MC but they wouldn't let me have it even after I begged in the "cutest" voice that I could over vent. sad.gif(

Haven't been raiding for a longgggggggg time now. My priest, which i wanted to transfer when the Earthquake struck is still in my old server:((
She's in 6/8 T1 and some other purples from ZG and AQ20.

End of the day, IMHO its not how GEARED you are, its how GOOD you are! smile.gif

Agreed! When I first went to MC with my guild, I was in blues and a couple of greens. The best geared person was our MT who was in 3/8 T1 plus other blues. We managed to get to Geddon with that and 3 weeks later we cleared Rag. Subsequently farming MC at under 4 hours. Then drama happened (as usual) and 70% of the guildies left/quit the game. At that time our guild has become quite famous and many people wanted in. These people are in epics and waving their benedictions around. Yet, we couldnt even get past Sulfurion. Took us about 2 more months to actually down rag again.

So...yeah, I agree that skills > gears.

It's not that. Depends on how you spec. If you speced for PvP, you gonna suck on PvE raids. PvP spec has more damage but only for a short period. Raids are long period battles especially bosses. You are a lot more mana efficient if you speced for PvE. That's the difference.

Yes, your specs make a difference, so do gears. I was in WSG once and I had a mage+hunter on me. I dotted them and kept healing myself and both of them ran out of mana and I was still healing myself happily. Why? Coz their gears suck.

BUT

IMO skills are still the most important factor. E.g. when my guild first tried Skeram, we kept wiping because the 2 OTs kept dying. They died because they weren't getting any heals. They weren't getting any heals because their healers were all OOR or out of LOS. All the healers did was kept screaming OOR! OOR! over vent but doing nothing about it. It's our job to keep the OTs alive. If they're OOR then you should get in range. Not scream at the OTs to get in your range. Even with the bestest gears, with mindsets like that, I doubt the raid would be a successful one. Of course there will always be incidents of bombing the whole raid during Vael & Geddon, riding on Ony's tail etc which all boils down to skills, reflex, and common sense.

What I'm trying to say is that for a successful raid, all 3 factors: gears, specs, skills do matter but if you have to say which one is the MOST important factor, I'd say skills.

But yeah, for mages, specs matter a lot more. A fire mage in MC....... whistling.gif

IMO orcs, trolls, and esp undeads are pretty gorgeous chicks in the non-sissy, non oh-we-are-so-weak-we-can't-even-carry-our-own-torsos way. Tauren chicks just irk me though.... though Tauren males in G-strings dancing on top of mailboxes are a sight to behold!
