Hi everyone,

I am a fresh graduate from Australia (end of 2015), majoring in accounting & finance (Bachelor of Commerce). I am interested in joining BNM as an entry-level staff but I could not find any job vacancies in BNM available for fresh graduates or even the HR contact details. As such, I would like to know if there is any way for me to contact BNM HR? I really hope that I can have the opportunity to join BNM.

Why do I want to join BNM?
Basically is because of my interest in BNM. My siblings are working in commercial banks and this has developed my interest in banking industry. I believe working in BNM offers me the opportunity to learn and understand the operation of nation's banking sector better (as it is the nation's central bank). Apart from that, I wish to pursue my 3-year Chartered Accountancy program in BNM to become an experienced professional and continue my MBA later.

My qualification?
Bachelor - I graduated from a university in Australia with overall WAM of 86, awarded university full scholarship, Dean's List for 2 consecutive years and the Most Well-Rounded Accounting Student Prize.
Diploma - I also graduated with CGPA 4.0, awarded Book Prize and college full scholarship.
High School - 10As in SPM and was awarded Top Student in Class for 2 years.

Which area in BNM that I am interested in?
1st preference will be the Finance department, 2nd preference will be Supervision/Surveillance related department, 3rd preference will be audit department.

If you are working in BNM, I will appreciate if you can do me a favour by providing guidance to me on how to apply for grad job in BNM (working in BNM).

Thank you.

If you are asking about how to apply, probably you should start by looking up for HR contact in BNM

I believe your first post is sufficient to be your cover letter in pursuing your job application with them.

I dont think they are taking in fresh graduate, most of their Entry-level requires 1-2 years of working experience, either in Big 4 or some of the investment bank (IB).

One of the reason why most people want to enter BNM is because of the remuneration package and of course they are the main player in the nation because of the grant, capital, loans or whatever not are through their mandate.

You can quickly glance through Linkedin for existing profiles.

You can actually apply through their official website, https://careers.bnm.gov.my/index2.html

Top graduate should not be spoonfed, figure it out hereafter.

TS wants short cut in his careers and immediately become client. Its like some fresh civil engineering graduate wants to work with a top developer immediately after graduation and not want to start his career by being an engineer working for a cement supplier to the developer. Life not that easy maa...

They do recruit fresh graduates, but most of them were Bank Negara scholars. Graduates join BNM as a Senior Executive. I personally do not know any fresh graduates who joined BNM who were not BNM scholars.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your help and opinions. Yes, I do agree that top graduates should not be spoonfed and I don't see myself as a top graduate compared to those JPA/BNM or corporate scholars.

Currently, I am working in one of the Big 5 audit firms in Malaysia. Nonetheless, as like what others do, I also don't give up looking for my dream job, which is BNM (or even Securities Commission). Although I kept trying to approach BNM or SC HR via LinkedIn and failed, but I will not give up (even the chance is very low).

Once again, thanks for your advice. I am happy to share my experience or my academic background with you if you are interested to chat with me. It's good to have new friends too smile.gif
