hey guys,
i just registered for maxis wbb the 99/month package. here's a question. is it different from the unlimited data plan? does the unlimited have any other pros (the one that i know it's not capped and you can use voice service on it) over wbb.
i ask at the maxis shop and the dude said there's no unlimited data plan for wbb. i take this there's no unlimited data plan that comes with modem/router right? i have to subscribe this as a normal maxis 3/3.5G line and use my own modem/router?

hey thanks for the explanation. so this unlimited data plan would work with b932 modem right? i kinda like the modem, looks neat. anyways, any other suggestion on the modem for this plan? b932 is kinda pricey, but i can fork out some money if there's no other options. ethernet cable connectivity is a must.

QUOTE(stimix @ Mar 26 2009, 09:04 AM) On Torrent, Too bad i feel torrenting has been throttled because DL speed only avg 20-30KB & the speedtest result suddenly dropped tremendously to turtle speed of <200kbps & ping dropped to 700ms....horrible...I'm suspecting Maxis does anti-torrenting i'm not surprise if maxis blocks all torrent traffic. international links are not cheap, and things we do with torrents are mostly not legal anyway.

QUOTE(cracksys @ Mar 28 2009, 08:49 AM) i'm getting disconnection issue. coverage is not a problem as i'm able to get full speed. new speedtest is sexay! disconnection issue is quite a pain in the backside. i use this to play online with ps3. speed wise is good, but i'm getting random drops from the game servers eventhough the connection is good. and sometimes connection just lost, no blue light

found the most annoying problem with this service. upload speed to slow. less than 100kbps.
a month ago i could get more than 100k. now, not even breaking the 30k point. gonna continue for a week or so, if no improvement. cancel subscription.

QUOTE(ibnuasad @ May 4 2009, 02:30 PM) AFAIK, upload speed not so important as long as can reach up to 24kBps....unless you frequently update a website via FTP or play online games. The most important thing is the download speed From my experience, my download manager only sends data at 5-8kBps to download files at 1.2mbps. Btw, I've tested p2p with Frostwire early this morning and it seems that I can only get a connection through a proxy. Direct connection no longer works well, you got that right. i am using this one for online games. with voip it needs at least 128k upload speed. even playing without voip the connection suffers. haih, wish could get the real 384k upload speed. p2p download only works for 2 hours, then blocked. just testing it out since i cant play any games on it anymore.
