Maybe your bandwidth is saturated by your download bro?

Try to finish all downloads then check if your browsing is still slow.

Bros, can I ask a quick question?

Is Maxis 3G the internet service that composes Maxis Blackberry Internet Service? In other word, Maxis's BIS will allow unlimited download (no FUP), from the internet, using rapidshare, P2P, direct download, youtube, etc, in addition to subscription to BIS.

Hello bros,

Aiyo.

Today I went to maxis centre and talked to a CS.

The CS told me that 3G is included into maxis WBB and thus the 3 GB download limit stated in the FUP does apply to 3G. The CS said it's govt requirement and thus it's implemented.

Is the CS saying true thing bro? Have anyone ever exceeded 3 GB when downloading via 3G and not getting throttled?

That is a different package, the one CS told you was wireless broadband.
This package is known as Maxis Unlimited and previously known as Internet2Go. smile.gif
The one that has 3GB FUP comes with modem but this package doesn't come with modem.
Initially, this package is only for the users to online on their phones but most of them here use it to be plugged to modem and to surf Internet from computers.

I can tell you every user here has used more than 3GB/month and none of their speed is being throttled. smile.gif

Excellent bro, I'll convey about this to the CS at maxis centre. Hope they'll understand. Thanks for giving info bro!

Oh, btw, do you know whether the internet data of maxis Blackberry Internet Service unlimited (120 RM/month) is composed of Maxis Unlimited package or maxis wireless broadband?

Ah ha, sorry to disappoint you, I'm not a brother. tongue.gif I'm a female by the way. smile.gif
Yes, this package is RM 99/month but I think there is a plan of its wireless broadband that is RM 98/month, only RM 1 different but with huge difference in term of FUP. biggrin.gif

I'm not that familiar with Maxis' plans, you gotta wait for others to reply you on this. Alternatively, you may proceed with your Blackberry question on the dedicated section: http://forum.lowyat.net/Blackberry

blush.gif Sorry about that sis, I was in a hurry so I didn't look at the gender information at the left hand collumn.

EDIT: I have confirmed with Maxis CS. You're absolutely right sis! There is no capping on RM 99/month package. One way to distinguish that is by looking at the APN. If the APN is "unet" then there is no capping.

Bad news:

The CS I spoke with today just said that maxis 3G RM 99 unlimited that has no FUP (capping) has already been phased out as of 31st July 2009. No more new subscriber to the package.

Existing subscribers can still use their service though.

As a substitute to the RM 99 package, they have rolled out a new RM 88 package that has got 3 GB FUP.
