"Product-i" is probably some china clone phone. It's just another marketing blab by Celcom to reel in customers.

Currently only Maxis has the non-exclusive rights to sell iPhone in Malaysia.

Is it true that you can't do P2P on Maxis 3G unlimited plan? I heard they closed all the ports, even with VPN also no use.

i thought iphone 3g can't be use as broadband modem (connects it to PC by data cable)..

Possible , after you have JB'ed it (jailbreak) So in other words it doesn't work out of the box !

Its iPhone. They are just showing that their product (blackberry + celcom) > Maxis' iPhone 3G

Blackberry does rock , but the problem is the browser sucks and it has no wifi. whereas for the iPhone the browser rock and text messaging/e-mail sucks

They block , but its still possible to do. I am sure some of us are using it to torrent their latest dosage of animes and such !
Its Maxis Broadband that blocks everything !

I haven't done any p2p for the past few weeks but I can still create an SSH Tunnel to access "US Only" sites. I'll do some testing with FrostWire and posts the results later

found the most annoying problem with this service. upload speed to slow. less than 100kbps.

a month ago i could get more than 100k. now, not even breaking the 30k point. gonna continue for a week or so, if no improvement. cancel subscription.

AFAIK, upload speed not so important as long as can reach up to 24kBps....unless you frequently update a website via FTP or play online games. The most important thing is the download speed smile.gif From my experience, my download manager only sends data at 5-8kBps to download files at 1.2mbps.

Btw, I've tested p2p with Frostwire early this morning and it seems that I can only get a connection through a proxy. Direct connection no longer works doh.gif

well, you got that right. i am using this one for online games. with voip it needs at least 128k upload speed. even playing without voip the connection suffers. haih, wish could get the real 384k upload speed.

p2p download only works for 2 hours, then blocked. just testing it out since i cant play any games on it anymore.

I am currently using the maxis WBB. Can I change it to 3g unlimited plan? if so, how?

Do I need to go to the service centre?

I just subscribed the 3G unlimited, check with them the additional SIM Card is @ RM15/mth, which make me refuse to get another one, will try out the speed first in my area using my 3G HP, then will get a Huawei E160G soon..so can try out the speed immediately..
But the Maxis counter says the additional card is for voice only? not data? i confused.
*
hey bro...

you have to apply for multi sim 1 line...one for primary and other sim for secondary(can use for voice and mobile internet/told by maxis person)...i got mine yesterday, got from maxis centre at klcc.yesterday too bought modem from fren audrew(good reasonable seller)

QUOTE(cracksys @ Mar 20 2009, 11:46 AM)
not correct.

read more. RM15 is for Dual SIM-Single Line fee .. you need to be subscribed to Maxis Postpaid.

there's no way you could have unlimited 3G for 2 sim card running simultaneously with only RM114
*
Yes correct...we have to subscribed to maxis postpaid..

I was using maxis postpaid for since 2yrs..yesterday i went to maxis for apply for multi sim 1 line,i applied successfully, maxis fellow give me new 2 sim for one primary line and another one for secondary line.

Im using Value50 package so every month bill comes Rm50 +usage + 99 + 15 = ???

And he said extra sim can use for voice call also..he said + mobile internet...but my secondary line activated after 24hrs only...once activated i will try and the let u know all guys...check the speed
