Midnite Glory Btw, I noticed something with speedtest.net. Sometimes, if do test with Seri Kembangan server, result will be very slow. But with the other KL server, twice faster QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Dec 21 2009, 11:05 PM) My speed after changing to maxis new modem E1762. So, after getting the modem...you going to terminate tomorrow? Really no penalty meh?

Still got extra free maxis broadband sim with 3GB limit for 2 months. But who needs that? Since already got the unlimited package. Will terminate at the end of the free 2 months. Hopefully no penalty involved there.

I had the same problem when I first started looking for a suitable modem. I bought one of the PC Card based Option modem, and the secondary sim just wouldn't work. At times, it locks to the 3G network momentarily, then immediately loses connection. I changed the modem to one of the USB huawei and it works fine now. It was very puzzling. Someone told me ( I can't remember who! ) that if I have brought the "incompatible" modem plus the secondary sim to Maxis centre, the tech people would be able to set some bits on the sim card to enable it to work. I never did explore that option because the huawei works fine for me. QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Dec 19 2009, 04:18 PM) Just found out the hard way that secondary multisim cannot be used with any other brand of modems except Huawei. Tried with ZTE MF627, Sierra Wireless 880U (cost me RM300!), Option GT, etc. 880U can detect sim but will only connect to 2G band...tried various settings, still the same Anyone got their multisims working perfectly on other modems? Btw, now using Huawei E160 and it works flawlessly ....also bought 2 new units of ZTE MF600 modem for future use To do: - Fix outdoor panel antenna on roof (mf600) - Buy a magnetic antenna (e160) Added on December 19, 2009, 4:26 pmBtw, I switched from OpenDNS to GoogleDNS. I hate those OpenDNS search redirect pages!

Make sure you tested it if it's unlocked. Never trust those promoters.

Yeah, no contract. Pay RM180 and get the modem on the spot. Brand new unit. Still seal up in the box. But it come with maxis broadband sim card. Not sure when you want to terminate it, there will be charges apply or not. So far i've been told that no handling / service charges for termination. I've yet to terminate so cant tell.

but they only mention 15Mbps, not 21Mbps. and on the side note, Ericsson has demonstrated 42Mbps wireless transmission.

Wanted to get another E1762 maxis modem at RM180 so that can add another multi sim in the future but the people don't allowed me to add. Stated I can only take up the maxis bonanza promotion once and for all. Oh well...

Anyone read this FAQ - http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/mobile/br...nternet_FAQ.pdfOfficially statement saying that RM99 unlimited will be limited to 3GB as well. Hopefully, they will never enforce this. This post has been edited by maxcheam: Jan 8 2010, 02:44 PM
