why redmi colour so dull? is it because of setting?

depend where u come from, settings can adjust abit.
if you came from AMOLED phone earlier, it will hard for u to accept Redmi range... Unless Xiaomi Highend LCD range that have high color gamut.

4. Currently using sony xperia m5. Main reason to upgrade is the lack of internal storage space in m5. I like xperia m5 because the physical size, so I don't favor bigger phone.

Had a Z3 before the screen cracked, now using older oppo find 7a. Need something better than my beloved Z3 but with improved camera capability.

Own search led me to R9s Plus or the ZTE Axon 7.

But I heard with ZTE banned in US led to them not giving updates to current phones and R9s Plus with subpar reviews....
