QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Jun 11 2016, 07:32 AM) Thanks, that one looks really good. Noted on AP, I'm aware the issues, but the price savings really quite significant. That plus the fact I do have backup older phones available for downtime if need to send for 2 week+ warranty claim means am prepared to face that consequence. Yes, that Xiaomi Mi5 is the best bang for buck right now, that Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro with SD650 processor also is best bang for buck. Sadly, Mi5 is not yet officially launch, and Redmi Note 3 is shortage in supply for very long period.

Xiaomi Mi5, Malaysia global version RM1549. Sadly, this is the most basic version price, with 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM. Do remember this smartphone doesn't has Micro SD slot.

QUOTE(mudkipryan94 @ Jun 15 2016, 02:36 PM) but they said pricing on USD 400+ around la.. Then it's price should close to last year Oneplus Two price, maybe RM1899. If ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe close to that price, then would pick Zenfone 3. Cheapest now still is Xiaomi Mi5 32GB. Maybe Xiaomi should release a 64GB version for our market.

QUOTE(mudkipryan94 @ Jun 21 2016, 04:39 PM) FYI , LG Malaysia have local G4 gold white dual sim, but it cost your wallet around 1459...1 yr by LGE.. Good, that's quite cheap. But I'm now more interested in Xiaomi Mi Max with 6.44 inch screen. I prefer bigger screen phone, mainly for gaming purpose.

QUOTE(daniel2006 @ Aug 21 2016, 02:34 AM) 1. Brand. : OPPO / Xiaomi / or etc 2. Budget. below RM 1200 3. Specs. : 2gb or 3gb would be good. 4. What you need in the phone : i need a good GPS, currently with Asus zenfon5, has super terrible GPS... 5 Remarks : *currently have xiaomi redmi note 3 pro and OPPO F1s(latest).. *read oppo using Mediatek proc, not so good?? [QUOTE] From your budget, pick Vivo V3Max or Redmi Note 3 Pro. Vivo V3Max will be almost perfect, as it equip SD652 proc, and also got fast charging, only let down maybe is it's poor battery life. Redmi Note 3 on the other hand, has poor camera. A bit slower SD650 proc, well just a bit only. Don't get OPPO F1s due to it's lower res 720p screen and poorer Mediatek proc. Do believe me, 1080p screen is far more sharper. Of course, top up a bit you do get Oneplus 2 and Xiaomi Mi5. Xiaomi Mi5 is the much better phone out there, but lack Micro SD slot, only 32GB on board. A bit not recommend Oneplus 2, due to it's overheating issue.

QUOTE(briantwj @ Aug 22 2016, 11:15 AM) Can add Moto G4 Plus into ur consideration. 3gb ram, 32gb internal, dual sim, microsd expansion. DirectD now selling at RM1199. If u want good GPS, go for Snapdragon SoC, it's quite known for it's decent gps performance. But at that price, the Moto G4 Plus is AP set, Vivo V3Max selling at the same price is better with SD652 SoC, and is original set. G4 Plus only with SD617 SoC, with much inferior Adreno 405 graphic chip.

QUOTE(briantwj @ Aug 22 2016, 02:43 PM) Yea. Most of the phone i use before are import sets, so my experience with them is quite ok. But G4 Plus gives stock android experience. Vivo's UI is without app drawer. So depends on user on wad type of UI they like too. Well, warranty matters too. Not saying import set is bad quality, but warranty at least give peace of mind. Stock or non-stock experience actually depend on preference, no apps drawer also is a preference. But, do aware that this Moto G4 Plus is with onscreen button key, meaning the display will become smaller when used, unlike those phone with capacitive key. Normally I just skip those phone with onscreen key, notably from LG, Huawei and Sony. Then, this Moto G4 Plus also has no notification LED, something that shock me after reading some online review.

QUOTE(briantwj @ Aug 22 2016, 10:55 PM) Hmm. In terms of camera b processor, mi4 is better. But if ur dad wants a bigger display n fingerprint sensor, note 3 is more suited. Long time no c. I long time no lurk in android forum dy. Processor I would say almost equal. Then, Note 3 has 4G, Micro SD slot up to 64G, Fingerprint, IR, 4000mah big battery, which all Mi4 don't have. Overall, Note 3 is the much better buy, much more future proof and expandable memory.

QUOTE(epie @ Aug 25 2016, 04:23 PM) Hi guys, help me choose new phone 1. Brand. (Any) 2. Budget. (around 2k) 3. Specs. (screen size at least 5.5) 4. What you need in the phone (durable) currently i'm thinking to get either Huawei P9 plus or Samsung Note 5 other recommendations are also welcome thanks Oneplus 3 will be the best, around RM1888. Around that 2K price, at some store, you can get S7 Edge. RM2.3k. If really want biggest battery, Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro. Huawei Mate 8 now at discount price also worth considering.

QUOTE(RoGuEWaVe @ Aug 26 2016, 12:24 PM) Guys need some suggestions, kindly advise 1. Brand. (Any) 2. Budget. (1.5k-2k) 3. Specs. (4gb ram , battery >4000mah) 4. What you need in the phone (Good camera and long lasting battery) Usage for basic surfing, wifi use wen at offshore, video call. Only Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro 5000 mah and Huawei Mate 8 4000mah suit your need. But at this price, also can consider the much more powerful Xiaomi Mi5 and Oneplus 3, both at 3000mah battery, but long lasting too. There are also Huawei Nexus 6P, Huawei P9, Oneplus 2, LG Nexus 5X. Super low cost and around the same spec, can consider Vivo V3Max.

QUOTE(RoGuEWaVe @ Aug 27 2016, 08:22 PM) Thanks bro for the suggestion....... currently shortlisted A9 pro, Huawei mate 8 .... considering bout P9 & Honor 8.........basically confused No need confuse, Samsung Galaxy A9 would be the best of all. After that, maybe the newer Honor 8 and Mate 8 are the second choice. P9 should be the last listed as it's battery life actually is not impressive.

QUOTE(flutterstick9 @ Sep 1 2016, 01:24 AM) Hi guys, need help. 1. Brand. Any 2. Budget. <700 3. Specs. >2gb ram , 5inch is cool though 4. What you need in the phone . Snapdragon. Good battery. mainly use for common usage - calls, whatapps, utube. (its for my father's) Prefer not laggy phone coz my father likes to keep conversation in his phone. previous phone lag too much. any recommendation? Based on my research, redmi 3s, redmi note 3 is best buck to buy. However, im looking for other models to compared with. Thanks... Still Redmi Note 3 Pro is the best to buy. It's Snapdragon 650 processor is quite high end. Other brand may suggest the Alcatel Flash Plus 2, which is the only phone at this price comes with fast charging, but is Mediatek chipset, which is much inferior to SD650. 5.5" is more recommended than a 5" phone. RAM minimum 2GB are already more than enough, phone performance almost same on 3GB or 4GB RAM, processor actually is much more important than RAM.

QUOTE(flutterstick9 @ Sep 4 2016, 09:53 PM) Thanks for the comments. Ended up getting Redmi Note 3 Pro. Quite good. The only backdraw is the camera quality. But its quite ok. Good along the price. 👍 Actually below RM1K, not much can be recommend. May be the highest end would be Xiaomi Mi Max, second would be Redmi Note 3 Pro. Other close but over RM1K would be Vivo V3Max and Oneplus 2.

QUOTE(TheReaderReads @ Sep 12 2016, 01:11 PM) thx! then the redmi note 4 that is out in other countries is note 4 pro? QUOTE(NightFelix @ Sep 12 2016, 03:28 PM) If hmmm. There are 2 variant of Redmi Note 4 if I'm not mistaken, the 16GB and 64GB. I'm not aware of there are Redmi Note 4 Pro. The so called Redmi Note 4 Pro is simply just called Redmi Pro, sold alongside Redmi Note 4. Key different upgrade on Redmi Pro are dual rear camera, AMOLED screen and a higher spec Mediatek Helio X25. It already been sold at Lazada.
