Doesn't playing some games like God of War Collection overclocks the Vita by disabling wifi? I once saw it did just that. Which means, Sony actually allow devs to overclock the Vita to run their games, the only downside is probably no online while doing it, which might be the reason why most devs chose to leave it out. Never thought that using wifi plus high clock could damage the Vita so much.

Yeah, I was actually following his updates. Some games do see differences while others didn't, and borderlands 2 are one of the title where it significantly improve. But those are games that never mentions turning off wifi during gameplay. Here is the article which I read regarding overclocking and wifi.

True, it is sad that Sony locks us out of the option. Sony should actually improve on cooling rather than heavily clocking down the GPU in my opinion. If the GPU is running at 400MHz instead of the regular 100MHz, it should improve gameplay by a lot. And 400MHz isn't even heavy since most smartphones and tablets are running their GPU at higher clock (500 - 650MHz)
