As Unifi use VLAN 500 for Internet, VLAN 600 for happy-TV, what's the VLAN on Time FIber Home Internet?

not necessary. time fiber doesn't use vlan tagging. Just use the quickset PPPOE on eth1

QUOTE(superuserz @ Mar 23 2016, 02:19 PM) Hi Se7en, As se7en has mentioned, you can just use the "Quick Set" feature for a Time Fibre setup. I'm using Winbox. I follow this tutorial. I use the value they show in the tutorial. http://www.mikrotik.com.my/setup-for-unifi/ I would recommend resetting the MikroTik router to its default configuration, then going to the "Quick Set" tab and set it up from there. Attached is my Quick Set config for my router. Hope it helps. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

superuserz, the winbox/webfig should be the same across all routers, unless you haven't updated your router's firmware.
If you're using manual PPPOE, based on your screenshot change these. Leave Max MTU, MRU, MRRU empty (just hit the up arrow so that the value will be blanked out). Interface, select the interface which you are connecting to the Time Modem, eg ether1 I'm also assuming you have keyed in the username and password (check back the forms that the Time installer passed to you, it should be there). |

You're one lucky guy to have Time where you are. What speed will you be subscribing to and which Mikrotik will you be using? I'd be very interested to know how fast the Mikrotik is in routing in real life. Currently all I have are the artificial results from routerboard.com.

Yep, Time just requires PPPoE which any consumer router will have. No VLAN means no need custom firmware like UniFi.QUOTE(superuserz @ Mar 25 2016, 12:05 AM) I will get the 100Mbps RM149/month. Also check out this post, fellow forummer did a test on an RB951G and with the latest firmware manage to clock 880mbps WAN to LAN. And that's with PPPoE & NAT. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=79277123 This post has been edited by soonwai: Mar 28 2016, 08:58 PM |

Thinking about getting a Mikrotik for TIME. I wonder if it's better than the D-Link router offered by the ISP.
