Well i got a friend whos on a very tight budget. He wants to buy a normal 4 string bass + amp for rm500

Thats quite impossible for first hand but maybe with 2nd hand bass and 2ndhand amps he could. So anywant wanna help me out??

If theres anyone who can help with 1st hand products with rm500 that would be really good. Just a normal bass and normal bass amp heh sweat.gif

leave out the amp and put the 500 all into the bass. It's more worth the investment. And good 2nd hand stuff are hard to come by in malaysia (from my experiences anyway...).

Ur guitar amp's speaker might burst if you use a bass.

nope.
get the bass first, you can still practice getting used to the neck etc.
and you can still practice along unplugged, of cos the music cant be that loud...
and of cos provided you dont hit the strings like a sissy.

well...cheapest 2nd hand bass amps...those 15/20w ones...are still around RM250-300.
that doesnt leave anything at all for a bass.

using a bass on a guitar amp won't cause the speakers to burst. Unless you push the volume to the max. But probably your eardrums will burst first. I use my kustom guitar practice amp to practice my bass. Besides, you can always use the hifi stereo as an amp. It works exactly the same.

Rather than squeezing everything into a small budget, buy less at one go. It's a better investment.

Yup, the speaker won't burst unless you push the volume. Another alternative, you can plug in to your PC mic port.

For RM 500, a SX Jazz-copy is a good start. nod.gif
