Guys.

I think this phone easily 10 hours SOT.

100% LTE Data + full power + auto brightness + white background

*
Impressive. I can't get this kind of SOT I guess. And I don't even use much apps. Hmph...

Battery status for today.

is this normal?? not really pleased with battery life. this is with power saving mode. off AOD
[attachmentid=6220360][attachmentid=6220361][attachmentid=6220362]

I thought this is not bad? 161 mins for 35% of battery usage. Interpolate it to 100%, you get 460 mins = 7 hours 40 mins!

but it was with power saving mode  sweat.gif maybe i expecting too much.

is normal for android os to take up so much battery?
*
Ah...no wonder. I was wondering how did you get such SOT. I have not get past a full cycle but from what I gathered so far, it seems like it's hard to get past 5 hours of SOT.

Not sure about the Android system app.

If they reassemble it the same way they took it apart, I'm sure the waterproofing would still be there right?
Provided they use the proper seal
*
Probably service centre doesn't have the proper tools or skills to seal it. Maybe the assembly is done by machine in factory during production.

How come u guys are able to hit 6 hours SOT? Mine maximum is 5hrs only and that is with 95% wifi. No gaming, no FB app.. Most of the time i use it for browsing and streqming Youtube ...and with black UI theme
*
QUOTE(cutypuppy @ Mar 23 2016, 09:55 AM)
for me is good enough, by the way, my phone have exchange sync active every hrs for email, calendar & contact.

so background apps is keep running but it still can hit more than 4hrs SOT, I'm happy with it.

some more while playing games, it only feel slightly warm, way better than my old S3 phone which is hot.
*
Sorry for the misunderstanding. notworthy.gif
What I mean was, to be called great efficiency in power consumption, it has to hit 6 hours of SOT with 3.6k mAh of battery capacity.
I myself can only hit 5 hours. doh.gif But I have not finished a cycle yet.

Assuming everyone's battery is in good condition and not defective, different users will have different SOTs. SOT is not exactly a good comparison because surely, a person gaming on the phone from full charge to 0% will have a lower SOT than a person who only uses the phone for emails or Web browsing (Wifi) and screen brightness at minimum.
*
Yes but it should not be too far off; especially comparing with the same user and usage pattern but different phone. My benchmark is Xperia Z3. 3100mAh but FullHD reso. Can easily last 5 hours of SOT for 3G browsing. WiFi will increase it past 6 hours.

On iPhone as there is no microsd, if we lost our phone they can't access our data.

But on s7e, they just take out the microsd and can access our data, our photo and video save at microsd....

Have to encrypt the microsd? Just to be safe.
*
Settings -> Lock screen & Security-> encrypt SD card

How bout this settings, what is it for?
*
Force to have screen lock I guess. No point to encrypt your microsd then people still can read it using Ur phone when urv phone is lost. Best is to have both fingerprint screen lock with SD card encryption. This way they can't read using other device and also on your device.

I thought they said not much difference noise-wise. Just the white balance and focus speed at really low light. In your opinion, which one do you prefer?

so SLSI is Samsung right?

Yup. So far only skyjz90 got Sony. AFAIK.

QUOTE(skyjz90 @ Mar 24 2016, 10:39 AM)
focus speed got any different?😱 which one faster?

if base on what i see the color is more accurate in samsung sensor😢
*
From websites which did the comparison, seems like Sony is faster when it's extremely dark. The AF hunts a bit on Samsung.

Sony sensor tends to have red hue?

Yes. Sony is only better in extremely low light focus. Other than that, Samsung is slightly better.
It came as a big surprise though. All these while, Sony sensors have been better.

My only concern is how they refine the software to maximise the sensor performance. For my understanding, the firmware is based on region not hardware they used.  hmm.gif
*
While firmware is different based on region, I do not think the camera driver and JPEG algorithm are different based on region. That should be entirely based on hardware.

exactly what i think too (but kinda scared to mention later i got flame here) tongue.gif

no doubt the edge screen is merely a design choice, more on the aesthetic than being practical.. samsung can add that edge screen function on any phone by adding the edge panel on the software.. hence make me think that sammy should retain the usual price point on this (RM2.5k-ish) and feel this kinda overpriced as they used the edge screen as the selling point. well not sure if they have patented the edge screen? coz i hope some chinese manufacturer will follow this design, so we can  have such beauty at a cheaper price, and will keep pressure on these tech giant.. just like Apple starting to lose sale volume because there are many other premium designed phones out there nowadays.
*
That's exactly the point of Samsung having Edge screen. It's to prevent others from copying it within months.

Don't get me wrong. I prefer Non edge version any day. Too bad they don't sell it here.

Blackout at my place. Got opportunity to really put S7 edge camera for some really low light test!

This pic had only moon light and some cars passing by as the light source.
Using Pro mode. Handheld rested on a static place. 2 seconds of exposure. ISO is kept at low as possible.
