Came from iphone 6s plus, personally I think it is about the same.

iPhone 6s plus can stay at 100% for very long whereas s7 drop to 99% in just 5-10 minutes of usage. But total SOT imo is about the same.
*
The thing with iPhone battery life is the amazing standby time and consistency. Losing 2-5% per hour is usual on Android.

Not to mention that it can be really inconsistent. At least now Smart Manager will warn us about rogue apps draining the battery.

QUOTE(alvin ong @ Mar 22 2016, 02:26 PM)
Might be ordering a non full tempered glass.
Anybody tried this before?
*
Big no no. Swiping somethin from they side is impossible with that.

customer service from 2 separate centre told me that the waterproofing warranty will be gone. Means they cannot guarantee that the phone is still IP68 complied. since the phone is disassembled. Learnt few things today

1. Hardware warranty all will still be carried on according to the warranty period
2. If the screen does happen to crack or shatter again, (warranty for everything will be voided)
3. After screen replacement, IF YOU wet your phone and water sips through. Samsung DOES NOT cover the warranty.
*
May I know which SC you went?

My battery life was quite poor on this phone. I am planning to send it in for inspection.

My concern is the waterproofing since they may teardown the phone to inspect the battery. sad.gif

How bad is it? How many hours of sot?
*
I only manage to get 3 hours+. That is not much better than my Note 3.

BT, NFC, GPS, Rotation disabled

QUOTE(eugenetwh @ Mar 22 2016, 09:31 PM)
Ipoh, Angsana mall and de Gardens. still waiting for my friend to ask Sunway.

Mine can easily last 1 day with 30% plus left by the end of the day.
*
Thanks, do update us about the waterproofing. I afraid that our waterproof seal will be affected even for warranty repair.

have you tried with another provider/simcard? huh.gif
*
I am on wifi most of the time. sad.gif

QUOTE(jameslow @ Mar 22 2016, 09:40 PM)
My battery also poor compare to my previous note 4 and note 5, full charge at 8am, until 6pm, left 35%, SOT less than 2 hours, probably 1 hr 40m, AOD disabled.

My note 5 easily last me till 11pm and left 35%.

However, my wife's S7E is much better than my earlier  note 5.
*
My SO is getting better battery life than me as well.

I guess it is pure luck. laugh.gif

QUOTE(alvin ong @ Mar 22 2016, 09:51 PM)
That's quite bad.. I could get through a day with 5hour+ sot.
Maybe you can try a factory reset?
*
Tried that. No difference.

QUOTE(eugenetwh @ Mar 22 2016, 09:53 PM)
i got a feeling it will be. since tear it down does states that they have to remove the back case which will affect the IP68. not sure if samsung will be doing it right or not. Sony used to cover my Xperia Z with full warranty even with screen replacement(yea tough luck again)
*
I hope Samsung is able to provide a 1 to 1 exchange like Apple.

I believe if the seals are replaced properly, waterproofing will be retained. It depends on the competency of the technician I guess. smile.gif

Poor coverage? Perhaps try 3G for a day and see how's the battery life?
*
I use 2G only when I am not using the mobile data. sad.gif

Wow. 20W is very powerful indeed. It could probably charge the S7 edge in under 45 minutes!
Anyway, will wait for your review of the Choetech 10W you ordered. thumbsup.gif
Wait for developers to create more Edge apps.
Luck? Or maybe Samsung is using battery cells of differing qualities - some better, some worse? This reminds me of the Apple 6S / 6S Plus processor fiasco - different processors (TSMC and Samsung) gave vastly different battery performance.
*
I am not an engineer but I notice that the battery voltage of my phone is lower than my SO's phone even the battery percentage is the same.

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Mar 22 2016, 10:10 PM)
but for Apple 1 to 1 exchange, those devices are not new as claim from the technician whistling.gif
for example, iPhone A antenna spoiled, iPhone B antenna working fine, so they took antenna from iPhone B and put on iPhone A biggrin.gif
should be in terms of customer service smile.gif
*
They are factory refurbished device I believe. I not sure how true is this anyway.

SOT and battery life vary according to people and depending on each usage pattern. Some people are using power saving with 0 background sync, not using any location app like weather or waze. Some using with min brightness level.

S7edge battery is pretty optimises I would said. My location is always on, Bluetooth on 2.5 hour during my driving time, background sync for weather and 2 email account 24/7, waze for 2.5hours since my last unplugged. Other usage is Web surfing, whatsapp, line, wechat, fb and etc

*
That is really good especially with Waze running. Location will kill my battery life. sad.gif

why not sign a data plan?now all the data plan is quite worth.
telco are having price war now, we can get more data with very low price.
*
I do have a mobile internet plan. I mean I set my network to 2G only when I am on WiFi.

The signal on 2G is better, better signal = lower power consumption.

Microsoft Exchange and a few Gmail accounts coupled with all the messaging and social apps. Goodbye to good battery life. laugh.gif

The "4-Axis" OIS of Mi5 compared to S7 Edge video sweat.gif

The OIS on the S7 Edge is truly amazing.

Try to zoom it all it and compare it with a phone without OIS. The whole frame is frozen on the S7. biggrin.gif

I notice the color of the LED is really inaccurate. Not a big issue, just annoying when white color become purple and yellow become orange. laugh.gif

I have the Gold and Silver. Wanna swap the Gold with a black.

I have a an IPhone 6S + Rose Gold, S5 Gold, S6 Edge Gold and now S7 Edge Gold. I think I have had enough of Gold for the moment.
*
The Gold S7 Edge looks really good on a brown leather case. My colleague is using that combination and it was absolutely gorgeous.

Kinda disappointed Samsung never fix their led notification light lol. White always look purple. It's been like this since s6. I imported an S6 active for my dad and the led is very accurate, you won't see 3 different colour shining through, all come out as one point.
*
The LED on the S7 Edge is annoying, especially on Whatsapp where the default color is white. The LED on the Note 3 is very accurate.

You can customize what colour LEDs you want for different apps. I dont have any problem with mine.

The trouble is the color accuracy. I am certainly aware that the color can be changed.

It is just really annoying that white looks like purple.

If you view the led from the sides or tops, you may view it as a slightly different colour. I think its what we call a colour bleed because of the multiple LEDs inside the phone.
*
Not a big issue but just a bit annoying since the LED on my previous Note 3 is fine. Can't expect too much from a RGB LED.

I notice Activation Lock is removed. Anyone manages to find it?

The protect encrypted data feature is the closest feature I found.
