Contemplating wether to change this to Note 5 instead.. i skipped note 5 so im not sure, but based on spec it should stands out at par with S7e.. after playing this for 2 days now, all i got is the beauty, amazing screen, but thats it.. on note 5 the pen could be useful to me..

But i must say that this S7e is really a matured product by samsung. Last time i always feel that the S series were the experimental release, and the Note series which is released later is their actual score of the release year.. for this year, if samsung just take this S7e and add in S-pen, i will be satisfied enough..
*
On specs n actual performance the S7e is way much above the Note5
Is overall faster, smoother, less buggy n much better battery life too. Multitasking is not a problem at all now vs Note5
Wait for Note6

I had used all the Galaxy n Note series n must say this S7e is Samsung best phone to date. I am looking forward to Note6. I bought this solely because of initial discount n free ext sdcard which was a darn good offer
However in daily usage I still prefer my other LG V10 n Mate8 over it

benny888, what's your preference between these 2 phones?
*
Nexus6p - for pure vanilla android, quick firmware updates n ability to test out variety of kernel n roms. A geek dream phone ? Overall a very good phone but battery life poorer than S7e
S7e - a more well featured phone now makes better with ext sdard. Best Samsung phone i had used. Good battery life n operating temperature n is not that warm even under continous usage. Can match Mate8 in this
There is no better phone between them. This depends on one's needs. My preference is definitely different from yours. Don't expect to find that perfect 10/10 phone - it doesnt exist. You must compromised n just decide which features are more important
Google to find out more on these 2 phones

+1

I would put it as the S7 Edge is a all rounder phone, providing ease of use that caters to all types of users.  nod.gif

The Nexus 6 P is like mentioned, intended for geek users who like to mod their phones. Also do note that the Nexus 6P is a huge phone and I mean it.
*
Mate 8 is even bigger but I had zero problems handling it

meaning to say there will never be s7 in the future also? unless i get an AP set?
any chance of knowing why didnt they bring it here?
*
Simple marketing strategy - bring in only the model that will sell well . This will help to reduce stocking n service/support costs of less popular model . Apparently previously the S6e sells much better than the S6. Anyway no one knows whether they had any plans to bring in the S7 later on?

how to apply the skin?
*
Is easy...just a stick on only. You might need a hairdryer to blow the edges for a better fit if you wish. But I had never use it on my Nexus6p n iphones.
Its website has a video showing you how to do it which I feel is unnecessary. More for kiasu/kiasi users I would say

Guys, sorry if noob question. I used to be able to adjust different ring volume for ringing, media, notification on lollipop. But unable to locate where to do that now on MM/S7. Am I looking at the wrong place or it is no longer available?
*
I am using the app volume button for this. Works very well on non rooted phones. Simple fast n easy than using vol keys

My friend has received his Ultimate SP n need my help to install it. Actually at my age I can still do such tasks quite well. I had helped him several times before installing various type of SP. Reading on user experience here I already had some idea how to do it
Anyway personally I don't believe in using such stuffs
Till now my S7e display , back n back camera s perfect without a single hairline scratch
Will report further on this when he see me tonight

If buy S7 from DirectD, is warranty from Singapore still valid?
Or just shop itself?
*
In Malaysia from directd
If is truly Singapore set than any Spore service center will accept it. They checked warranty through phone serial number . Not necessary to show any proof of purchase at all.

Benny, it took me around 2 hours and 20 minutes to get a full charge from 0-100% on my S7 Edge with my Samsung Fast Wireless charger. Is it normal? FYI, i'm using the original fast adaptive AC charger and cable too with no case attached.
*
I think the time is about OK ( only slight longer than mine) ...don't worry too much over it
Important issue - the fast wireless charger shouldn't get heated up if the built in fan is working well

I had helped my friend to install his Ultimate SP last night. Infact there is a full page instruction on how to do it which I did not follow 100%
The install took me under 10 mins
This is what I did
Clean the display first with some alcohol tape cleaner followed by glass cleaner
I prepare a small bowl of water with 2 drops of lemon dish washer liquid
I spread a thin film of the water on the display n just put the SP on top. I feel not necessary to soak phone or SP
Adjustment of the film just needed a minute+ n I started from bottom to align n slowly squeeze out the film of water using a phone card on top of a piece of microfibre cloth
End result some minor bubble at bottom edge
I just tell my friend let it be so
He charged
back the phone 2 hours later n managed to squeezed out those minor bubbles with his phone card
Conclusion - is not that a difficult task as described by some. It could be tiring following 100% the supplied instructions
I only did the front display only

I had been using this phone since 18 March and had NEVER EVER experience any freezing, sudden restart at all
Such issues are usually due to some incompatible apps especially system type app, memory managers, battery booster, auto task killers etc ( TOTALLY unnecessary and useless I deemed) or some app installed through unknown/unofficial apk
One need to check one's apps to isolate the problems
If after a factory reset and you still faced such issues than send in service center to check motherboard

If an issue doesnt happen to ur unit (yet), or maybe it happens and some of u just choose to ignore it, doenst mean the issue doesnt exist. if only one reported the issue, that might be isolated case, if there are multiple ppl reported, it's different story.

This has happened to my unit few times, especially when surfing net using Chrome, the phone just hang and rebooted by itself. In addition, there are too many bloatware that cant be uninstalled from this phone but only can disable it. E.g. Facebook, seriously, since when FB become one of the essential app that MUST exist in the phone?
*
I don't use CHROME and had never like it...I don't even use the stock browser. In all my Androids I only use either NEXT or BOAT browser
Facebook - i had no issues at all with it
Anyway disabling any app is as good as uninstalled. Only it is left on the phone
