managed is not a prob because I dun manage at all. Just my concern is when in overseas Travelling I want to take photos and videos at the best resolution without the need to delete files or purposely to consciously save space by not taking too much photos.

The only prob I can foresee is the problem of backing the entire phone on my laptop.

One reason I go for higher storage of laptop (512gb and above) is to backup the iphone.

You're taking 4K photos meh?
You take 1000 photos±videos, store 4000 songs, install 150 apps onto your phone, they don't even occupy half of your 128GB iPhone...

I brought my ip6+ 64gb to a recent Sri Lanka holliday, and halfway on the 3rd day already have problems with too many videos.

Moral of the story, the more storage is good but it not necessary.

To be frank, I don't like taking video.
It would be much better if you just take photos only, leaving the memories in your brain...
To me, the only sweet moment of life is to able to recall your past.
The moment I see a picture of me, I'll be excited telling ppl where was the picture taken, when was it taken, how I come to the place in the picture, who took the picture for me, etc. I have a lot of stories to tell just based on one photo. And perhaps there is something that I wouldn't tell, leaving that as a mystery. But if I took everything as a video, there is no reserve.
Besides, taking everything in video makes you lazy to store your memories into your brain.
Sometimes when you replay the videos, you may not even remember when did you take them.
Of course this could be my own preference. Perhaps you may have your own reason to take videos

No one will ever take everything using video. Photos and videos are all taken different purpose. That's why the reason of mixing both and not just stick to either one.

The reasons are too extreme to be applicable for all.

Taking videos traditionally is to make a documentary or some stories e.g. movie or drama etc.
For home users, the only reason to take a video is when you feel a certain action is exciting or worth to be recorded.
Unless you are making profit by taking videos, or gaining popularity from others, otherwise I see no more reason to take a video.
Taking video for scenery? Perhaps you are taking a video on how a bird can fly, but oh please, just get a real digital camera or video camera.

There are certainly a purpose of taking videos or photos using phones. If not, manufacturers won't not even upgrade the camera of photo to the standard now or even 4K video taking.

One may have personal preference for not taking video using phone but it certainly does not represent everyone.

If phone is not made for home users to take photos or videos, the point and shoot camera or home user video recorder won't not be killed now.

It is exactly phones are made for normal users for this purpose, that's the reason why no normal users are taking extra camera or video camera but instead only those professionals.

The very initial reason of putting a camera onto a phone is to let you take picture while you left your real camera at home. This was what it really meant for.
Later, ppl take this as advantage in improving their productivity at work e.g. taking picture of a document or notes. <-- this is the main function of the camera on my phone. My iPhone's Photo app is full of documents instead of real photos.
Soon, it become fancier and the phone manufacturer decided to add video function onto the phone and kept upgrading it so that they can come out with new selling points and reasons to sell the phones at higher price.
Again, what was the original retail price for iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S? What is the retail price now for the latest iPhone and Samsung phone?

Videos? not even exist in my phone.
