Laptop for software systems development

Hey guys I'm taking diploma and degree in software systems development, which learns programming and coding. I wanted to buy a laptop for the course I'm planning to study.
Do I need a high end laptop for my course ?
What laptop do you guys recommend me buying ? I have a budget of around RM2.5k, can go over a little.
Also I will be using my laptop for some gaming like CSGO, Dota 2, FIFA and others. Will also use for movies and music but primary on college stuffs.

Doing and learning are different things, and depends on what kind of programming, the spec of laptop might differ.
I can only see you are going after laptop with gpu because you wanna play games.

Dell or Thinkpad should be fine for your work/study..
since you will do some gaming as well betterget a Dell Inspiron with dedicated graphic card and 8GB Ram
