Extremely political environment and slow pace working ethics leads to very high turnover for this SJM plant in Penang. Just ask around the peers in Penang Industrial about SJM, they will know. You cannot guess the turnover rate here.

Benefits are crap compared to other American MNCs (HR here is a monster).

Don't get me wrong, SJM global is a very good company. It's just the Penang plant that is having a lot of trouble due to mismanagement from the senior managers and its incompetent group of directors.

If you're near retirement and looking for the final stop in your career, then this is the perfect place for you. It's very slow, steady place. You won't learn much nor can you contribute much (Trust me, your efforts will be ripped by the other seniors - I call them parasites).

However, if you still have the fire and passion within yourself to fight on, please for the love of God, AVOID this place like the black plague.
