how about 800d or its cheaper brother 750d? should be still light weight enough for you to carry around more often.

both should be around the same price (maybe higher a bit) as those used / 2nd hand 5d mark 2

if wanna high texh a bit, 70d or 80d but both is much more expensive.

price of something like a used 750D is quite cheap actually, should be under rm2k.

used 70D is around rm2.5k, as for 80d its rm3.5-4k.

Bought a carbon fiber tripod of some facebook ad.
Made a big mistake there.
ycplaster.com
Cost about rm400.

Rather than a carbon fiber tripod, I got some cheapo rm200+ aluminum tripod.

A risk definitely not worth taking in the future.

rm400 for a cf tripod sounds too good to be true, are you able to ask them for refund/ exchange?

Er, price and specs wise it actually looks shitty.

Nikon D750 released in 2014 and at this point of time, still cheaper and has better specs.

Anyone saw this?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/209243...t-0/description

It is a lazy man's way for beginners, but i'm mainly interested in it for the timelapse function (especially night/milkyway shots as the unit will auto adjust the exposure etc in relation with the changes in lighting throughout the night). I can just leave it running while I sleep lol.

The focus stacking is also a plus if it actually works.

But the D750 can't do full-frame vlog with the limited screen. tongue.gif

I do own a manfrotto CF tripod and it is no where near rm400 lol.

But I thought maybe this china knock off can achieve this.
It looks very portable on their webpage.

But Nope.
No refunds. No reply.
Oh well.

Lesson learned.

Magic lantern can do this.
For free.

Pro for using magic lantern
- you can get it right now.
- free
- don't have to worry about extra dongles or crap like that.
- quite abit more functionality. Like You can basically have it capture an image with a clap. Not to mention raw video recording for certain models.

Con
- 99% stability. That 1% is when you accidentally remove the battery a little to quickly. This won't screw up your camera, you just won't be able to use that card till u reformat it with a PC. Also corrupted but recoverable images.
- you need to install it on every memory card u have

i kinda prefer the 6D ii over d750, maybe due to that i don't need the powerful AF system on the d750. the tilty/ flippy screen + touch screen AF + canon's DPAF makes live view shooting/ videos so much easier. but the max shutter speed for 6d II is still 1/4000 i think?

anyways its a big improvement compared to 6D, which is still a nice camera to use other than the super basic autofocus system.

Preference is preference of course. Just saying spec to price it's not attractive for something to be released after mid-2017.

I guess Canon know people will still buy the 6DII even if they strip out lots of stuff to prevent eating into their 5D, 1D and cineline market.

Wow, now even the 200D is going to have a flip-out screen.
