Some users are reporting camera issue with the S7.

Only an issue for those using 3rd party camera apps rather than the stock Samsung camera app?

i have a question on fingerprint scanner.

to unlock it, can i just place my finger on it then it will unlock?

or i need to click the home button first to activate the screen, then only the fingerprint scanner will work?
*
I really really wished it was touch to unlock just like on my Nexus 6P. Oh well, just more 'finger exercise' for me when using my S7 Edge now. laugh.gif

Just finish setting up my S7 Edge. What a day... All function works like a charm, no any faulty. Really wanna thanks myself for choosing this phone accidentally haha~ An advice to others who are going to collect their phone tomorrow, check your phone kaukau before you leave! You have the rights to change another unit if their were any defect! Don't feel shine, must change!

As for me, I open 2nd unit and funnily satisfied.
*
Could you share what was the defect with your 1st unit? hmm.gif
Good knowledge for those who intend to buy the phone to check.

Sure bro. First defect is the place near the sim tray which got a tiny dent. The second place is the speaker grill, you know something like after you drills a hole on a metal, it'll have some metal that will bump out and you need to polish it? The speaker grill left that thing and the USB charger port plastic looks like been scratch before.
*
Wow. That indeed sounds bad bro.

Thanks for sharing. Hope that this kind of incidents are rare. Imagine those buyers that did not unbox at the shop, but took it home instead.

Hey Guys!

Now is Day 3 since I got my S7 Edge.

Just loving the battery!
Here's my battery performance as per screenshots below:-

My usage patterns:-
- Two Lines Active via Dual-SIM feature - Celcom (LTE / Data) + Maxis (2G Only / No Data)
- 35% LTE / 3G and 65% WiFi
- Screen Brightness - Level Set to 40% Auto-Adjusting
- Always On Display (AOD) - OFF
- Edge Feed - ON
- Notification LED - ON
- Bluetooth - OFF
- Location - OFF
- Power-Saving Mode - OFF
- Apps Used: WhatsApp (Heavy Use), Chrome (Average Use), Camera (Light Use), Calls (Average Use), SMS, etc.

Very happy with the results so far. Full charge since Saturday morning, and after 12 hours standby, now having over 4 hours SOT (Screen On Time) and battery still has 52% juice left! Extrapolating to 0% would mean more than 8 hours SOT in total! notworthy.gif

Samsung did a hell of a good job with the S7 Edge's battery indeed. thumbsup.gif

That's Vanilla theme. Love the slightly retro-ish pure Android feel of it. thumbsup.gif

Good on Samsung. I personally don't really care about the better GPU performance of the S820. Exynos > S820 for me anytime for my S7 Edge. icon_rolleyes.gif

If the S820 had better battery life than Exynos, everybody here will be cursing Samsung until kingdom come. laugh.gif

what is the screen protector u are using bro?

Nice SP... how much and where did u get it from?
*
Using Clear Coat.

But some may not like it because it feels 'rubbery' and it is not exactly cheap at RM160 (clear version). A glass SP or a high-quality film SP feels much smoother.

Your home button got stick anything?
*
Nope. Naked home button. But better to get a protector for it as it is not sapphire-glass button like iPhone. sweat.gif

QUOTE(jameslow @ Mar 21 2016, 12:17 AM)
I noticed sharpness more or less are same, but S7E very vibrant at same setting.
*
Yup, I realized this too. The screen colours seemed more vibrant than my previous Note 5.

QUOTE(samsungXP @ Mar 21 2016, 12:18 AM)
It is spigen thin fit case?
*
QUOTE(cks @ Mar 21 2016, 12:20 AM)
nice casing and sp. mind to share how much and where to buy those?  thumbup.gif
*
Am using Samsung Clear Cover, RM 139 at Samsung outlets. Love the look of the case. biggrin.gif
But doesn't protect against drops I believe. Better to get those hybrid polycarbonate / TPU case for proper protection.

The black color is really nice! I more see more gatal already! Ok la is time leaving this place for now.

Sleeping better, haha!

Haha. Don't worry, there's always tomorrow to catch up. laugh.gif

QUOTE(jameslow @ Mar 21 2016, 12:01 AM)
I did, I wash it yesterday night, but I realized in the morning (after 8 hours), the speaker become abnormal and sound 'koyak', so I thought it was due to the bad version, planning to restore my Note 5 and send this S7E to Samsung, after a while of observation and diagnose externally, play some music and test the equalizer, the sound back to normal after it was fully dry up. Panic no more...
*
It's funny though. The Sony Xperia Z-series phones didn't seem to have this issue. Seems that the waterproofing membrane for the speakers which Samsung used for S7 and S7 edge cannot repel the water properly. hmm.gif

Due to this, some reviews and tests online (IIANM, by CNET) even claimed the speakers got permanent damage after water submersion, which is not the true case (they just need to leave it for another 12 hours to dry up. laugh.gif)

QUOTE(lowyard @ Mar 21 2016, 12:22 AM)
I let tap water to run on the phone coz I was charging and using the phone so it was quite warm and I need to put the phone in my pocket so I need it to be a little more cooler. That was on Saturday.

So far so good.

Oh wait, anyone experiencing problems with network? I'm using maxis and somehow I have difficulties to get data connected and even problem with receiving calls. All I got was an sms informing me I had missed calls.

Wifi and Bluetooth and sms was ok though. Btw I faced that problem just quite recently.
*
Probably Maxis network issue? Or try to take out your sim card, wipe down properly, and put back. Maybe dirty contacts on the sim card.

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Mar 21 2016, 12:27 AM)
Huh? Clear coat and a case?

That case is a Samsung Clear View case right
*
Nope, not Clear View. Using Samsung Clear Cover. They both look more or less the same I think. One with flip, one without flip.

It's a bit tight when putting on the Clear Cover because of the Clear Coat near-full body protection, but can be done though. thumbsup.gif

sorry noob here...was wondering how is the dual sim actually working. I got 2 MaxisOne plan on board. How can i utilize both data plan for FB, Whatsapp using this phone?
*
I don't think you can utilise both lines' data at the same time. If the hardware supports it, you may be able to do if you root your phone and install custom ROM (just a theory).
Why not just finish up the data quota on one line first, then after that switch the data usage to the other sim. It's a bit of a hassle, though.

Can I maintain separate contact list(personal & work)  if I run two whatsapp on dual sim phone? Something like ogwhatsapp?
*
Suggest you don't use third party apps for Whatsapp. If Whatsapp detects it, your number may be temporarily blacklisted. I had the same issue previously when using Whatsapp Plus.

If you want two Whatsapp on the S7 Edge, use the Whatsapp and My Knox method mentioned here earlier.

the round thing is fast charger?

What did you spend on?

Edit: clear coat + clear cover + fast charger? Rm500++? Nice!

Like the clear cover very much. Just need to be careful laugh.gif .
*
Spot on! Haha. Not cheap for all those but well worth it to me. biggrin.gif

Thanks bro. thumbsup.gif
Now must look for a case which can really protect the phone when I do sports / outdoor activities. Spigen Crystal Shell perhaps? hmm.gif

QUOTE(Vape On @ Mar 21 2016, 11:05 AM)
Gosh i love this clear cover so much.

If i refuse to go naked. This clear cover is the slimmest one can get.
*
To be honest, the Clear Cover makes the S7 edge look much better than going naked. devil.gif

Any black and white from them? If just verbal, hard to trust, right?

QUOTE(Hamsom @ Mar 21 2016, 04:36 PM)
Guys...i remember someone was looking for the camera SP. Any chance any of you found it? If not im going to buy one el cheapo SP and cut it for the camera lens.

Learned it the hard way on my Note 2 last time, but of course after a couple of years of usage.
*
Am looking for it also. If you managed to find, please share with us here.
Actually you can use the same protector which came for Note 5 or S6. Since similar size more or less.
