Lazada become so Kudakut even after bought by Alibaba...
sigh
this is the trend
the previous lazada main shareholder juz wanna burn money to gain market share (KPI is sales turnover figure), not looking into operating profits, with the hope to sell this company to big company to gain profit in one off (after all, their ultimate goal is business selling profit, not operating profit)
alibaba is a public listed company, must responsible for their share value performance every single time
they bought lazada as a platform to step into south east asia e-market more comfortably, ie with the aim of making profits, not burning money
year ago alibaba bought shares in singapore post as their SEA logistic backbone, now it make clear why they did that as now they bought lazada as front ecommerce platform (source said singapore temasek as middle man). In one word, singapore has been strategically identified by alibaba as their SEA hub and base.
(despite we malaysia here always said best relationship bla bla bla with china among SEA countries from old days till now, top gov personnel bilateral visits and all that... but when comes to biz operation reality, they still prefer singapore than malaysia as regional base)
