don't think it's "wise" to blame anyone. just acknowledge the change and wait for the official announcement.

Yeah we wait...

Just like maxis case now, many porting to other telco because more attractive.

HLB Wise? I dunno about you guys but I'm cancelling the card if it turns out to be true dry.gif No point having this Wise card if I don't benefit from it, somemore got AF hmm.gif

Yup, this is what an adult shall do, wait for the official revision before jumping in to conclusion. Blame BNM? Only losers do like this.
When my very first cash back card revised to 1% from 5% I do feel butthurted. But after thinking it back, it just a card's benefits and is subjected to revision as and when a bank feel is needed. So I get another cash back card and 1 year after, it revise again. Then get another cardlor, what is so hard?
Using credit cards is for our needs and convenience, just think that if you need to buy a rm6000 TV, you carry cash and get robbed, so you lost rm6000 direct. But with credit card, you no need to worry on this.
If we are getting credit cards just for the sake of cash back and push our self to get the max cash back by spending more, it is no point also, right?
Like now I'm quite famous in Tesco where the staffs even help me to fill the trolley with cartons of Milo but now my room are full with Milo cartons, all just because I want to get max cash back doh.gif
*
Milo got expiry date oh... innocent.gif

Why stop using when nothing has changed yet? Whatever happens won't change your current cashback entitlement because you have already earned it before the changes. Why so many people jump the gun and stop using when nothing has changed and nothing is official.

Don't jump the gun..

Not everything needs to wait until happen only react ma...

But you are correct. CB is still there and I'm still using cool2.gif

HLB WISE is not a sustainable business model. Earning 0.5 to 2 percent merchant and giving back 10% is not sustainable. Earning 1.5% interest per month on outstanding and returning 10% cashback is not sustainable. It was just a matter of time.

It would be WISEr for them to cut the bleeding.

Nothing we do will change it. They would expect a lost of cardholders and these cardholders are likely to have no outstanding and it would not be a lost to them since they are bleeding every time a cardholder with no outstanding is getting cash back.
*
hmm.gif

Statistics prove that the more CC big spenders, the higher chances of difficulty in full repayment. I believe this is why most banks all out in getting more CC users. No outstanding today doesn't mean in future also same no outstanding...

Also I don't believe majority Wise users getting 10% CB every month, or at least not RM100 sweat.gif

Still, I may be wrong and if all the WISE CC cardholders have no outstanding but 10% CB every month @ RM100 max, then HLB really need to do something rolleyes.gif

But at the first place how can they even do this and told us it is compulsory
When I said I dont want it and she replied me the credit protection come together with the card and cannot be cancel

When I re-emphasis again and said I dont want it then she just hang up the call without telling me it is cacellation had been done or it is I am opt out from this now... No, she didnt said anything at all and just hang up the call !!

The call is from Private number, I can even call back the number

I tried to call to Hong Leong Customer care just now but waited for 10 min but no one answer my call

I need help  !!!!  mad.gif

How can Hong Leong Bank do this, this is SCAM

Cool down console.gif

Yours seemed extreme.

I tell you mine...

Got call, told the girl I don't want, but she begged saying it's free. I told her I had experience before with other CC, it's not free. She insisted it's free. She kept begging even when i told her it's not free. Somehow she said it's free and I cancel it within 45days if i don't want it. So I accepted. She then PROCEED TO GET MY DETAILS (You didn't seem to go through this, so I guess you are not into this protection thumbsup.gif )

So...after 1 month, bill came and horeyshit, I'm charged. I call CS, blasted that guy. He said couldn't do anything on refund but can cancel on the spot for me. So I said I cancel but I will also cancel the card right at that moment if no refund or direct me to the person in charge. Somehow, he said HLB will get back to me in 3 working days, but they don't.

I called CS back, the girl said refund given back and it's shown in my statement. Checked my statement and refund is there.

Buat susah saja... sweat.gif

ePay normally don't allow CC for payment.

IF epay at a petrol kiosk does allow CC for epay (Unifi, TNB, maxis, etc)...what category would it fall into? Utilities? Groceries? notworthy.gif

well, be specific with your question?

petrol category can be kiosk/pump and service station/counter.

so, what's your question again? u intend to use Wise? or other card since your original question was just "cc" in general.
*
I intend to use Wise, IF they allow cc for epay at the petrol station, most likely over the counter.

In this case, would it be under Petrol, Groceries category?

dont see many petrol station offer epay services that accept cc, though. can share where are available stations?

one i can think of is Petronas Kinrara.

for Wise, wont be either Petrol or Grocery categories. Best to use MBB Ikhwan.
1) what are your Wise categories?

2) where are you based? If KL, try Sam's Groceria @ Nu Sentral. If PJ, Sam's Groceria @ Encorp Strand Mall. Sam's Groceria is verified under Grocery category using Wise. More info here

I am using Wise at Sam's Groceria Nu Sentral. A bit of a hassle going to Sentral monthly for this...

Wise categories are Groceries and Petrol

I am thinking of changing category to Travel...anyone have any experience whether overseas hotel bills are under Travel? I don't have MCC no. to see whether they fall under the Hotel category.

I have also emailed HL but so far no reply from them...

Also, does the change is only effective the following month?

Update...
Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your email dated 14 Jun 2016

we understand that your enquiry was about your entitlement for the Cash Back.

Do refer to the attached Term and Condition for your kind perusal.

For WISE CREDIT CARD, it solely depends on the Merchant Category Code assigned by their acquiring bank when the merchant signed up to accept credit card as a mode of payment. Therefore, Hong Leong Bank does not have control over that.

Top 10 categories...

If you need any other assistance with your credit card account(s). Please do contact us via our Customer Service Hotline at 03-76268899.

Thank you for banking with us. We look forward to serving you again.
