It was good for awhile, but I guess it couldn't last.

Once I lose the 5x TP for Amex and the 4.77 points per KF/AM/Enrich mile I'm out. Thanks Maybank.
*
Looks like the 5X drop to 1X TP is only affecting Govt, Utilities, Petrol, Edu and Insurance. If this goes the same for shopping and other purchases. I will definitely cancel M2P

Same also like what you said about if Maybank reduces the 4.77 points per Enrich. No way am I going to keep it if that is also take away.

Here is an update on benefits:

I was at Westin Hotel, Bukit Bintang, it seems Maybank's offer description of 40% off for dining up to 10 person is inaccurate. SPG is only offering 20% discount overall. Called Maybank CS and they mentioned that the latest offer has not been signed between Maybank and SPG yet.

Hope they do maintain the 50% discount for 2 diners. Really like the restaurants there.

Shangri-La still maintains the 50% discount though.

Thanks for update. Did they say they are working on getting it back to 40% again soon???smile.gif
*
Haha. I actually told the CS that 40% is not good enough. I want the 50% back.

Anyway, like most credit card offers they will usually sort out the new year's benefits by March latest

It was amazing! smile.gif Plus both the chinese and japanese restaurants are really of 5 star standards. The 50% off on the omakase menu is really worth it.

*
Normal price RM 795. After discount, less than RM400. Amazing!

QUOTE(boyslikeboys @ Feb 4 2019, 12:48 AM)
Which Omakase are you referring to?? Interested!!
*
Check out the menu: http://www.shangri-la.com/uploadedFiles/Sh...rt-1-9-2018.pdf

I had the Omakase Kaiseki Course. Amazing price which makes the whole dinner experience even more pleasing. Haha

Hilton gold status is easy to get with visa infinite

This is interesting. How does this work? I thought the Hilton Honors membership is based on stays at the hotel? How does using our Maybank VI work for this?

for all visa infinite card, not only Maybank, the promotion is after registration within certain period of time u make two stay at Hilton properties then u get the gold status
*
Can't seem to find that promo for VI on their website. Since I am a frequent traveller, getting such deals is great.

Also, is anybody a fan of Cathay Pacific? I've been redeeming all my TP for Asiamiles. I always wondered if we use Airmiles redemption, will Marco Polo members still gain Club Points as well? Otherwise its just for a full paying fare?

I love our M2P cards. Been flying on Business Class to Europe and USA last year with plenty of points to go. Cathay Pacific is quite good but Qatar is even better where I got their Q Suites. A literal room with doors. All from the price of an economy class ticket. smile.gif

Mind to share Qatar trip?
From where to where?

It's KL > Doha > JFK

QUOTE(theCrab @ Feb 9 2019, 08:21 PM)
The problem with Cathay is most of time you get waitlist
For qartar business class you have to pay approx 2.5k tax to Europe
*
That's odd. I never had any waitlist for Cathay. I usually book at least 3 months ahead.

For RM2.5k tax, it applies to Cathay too not just Qatar. Qatar was RM2.8k if I remember correctly. In this case, I might as well select Qatar. Big difference in quality and service. Still worth it to pay economy while flying on Business Class.

Can I ask how long does it take for Maybank to convert treat points to asia miles?

Anyone redeemed before?

Newbie here
*
I redeemed a few times. Sometimes I can get it within next day or at most 4 days.

Anyone win these kind of contest before? I tried so many years but never get once.... if these is really fair game, I guess maybe Maybank easily have more than 1000 of user that can hit 6 figure spending every month with their card
*
I got a call a few days ago from Maybank CS. I'm one of the winner for last year's Rimowa contest. Had to spend RM 50k a month for consecutive 4 months

https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...rimowa0818.page?

Hope to win more smile.gif

Nice. I registered for that too but didn't win any

With this kind of spending, can become regular winner for future Maybank contests
*
I averaged about RM 100k to 130k a month since it was end of the year with my overseas travel. It makes me think that maybe they award based on highest spenders but the minimum needs to be RM 50k a month.

I don't know about everyone else but I use my M2P and put all my monthly spendings into it eventhough I have cards from other banks. I'm lucky I find a lot of spending using AMEX. So far I've been earning almost 1million treatpoints every month.

Not for me though. I have a big family and pay for all expenses. Add that between elderly medication, education bills and wife's spending plus myself. It adds up quite fast.

For the Rimowa contest they allocated 200 winners. For the luxury watch it's only 16 winners. Chances are even more slim. Plus the terms mentioned they are using randomiser. Can just treat it like lottery this time.

did Maybank CS ask you 1 question and you have to give the right answer before you win the prize?
what is the question asked ?
*
No questions was asked. They just called to let me know I won and they wanted to clarify my home address so that they can courier the luggage out. Particularly, she mentioned she was calling from Menara Maybank.

I guess at least few thousand people spend more than 50k per month, so is stil not easy

For sure. Maybank is quite popular but even among my business folks who spends more than me, they prefer using HSBC or OCBC. So I'm thankful not everyone uses Maybank.

Why they like HSBC or OCBC?
*
Somehow the service of private banking of international banks are better than local banks. Plus the variety of investment products are diverse. When they are overseas, transferring of funds is easier with the help of a local branch to handle property sale or business transactions.

Anybody tried converting TP to Krisflyer miles? How is the availability of the tickets? Need to be put on waitlist?

I’ve always converted to Asiamiles and use it on Oneworld so never tried Singapore Airlines before

Fair enough but they dun have to use their cards ...

I tried asking them to change to M2P but they don’t seem interested. At their level they can afford to fly first class and prefer to stick to the same bank and maintain the banking relationships. Very proud about their RM on call anytime even if want to withdraw cash.

Anyway, less of such big whales better for us to get more goodies from maybank biggrin.gif

If they alr fly first class with real cash then they won’t bother with this card la, this card Used to be fake rich people card, until recently, it become everyone can afford card
*
I wouldn't call it "fake rich" without insulting all our M2P members here. It's good to think Maybank considers anyone who qualifies for this as wealthy enough. smile.gif

QUOTE(aspartame @ Mar 2 2019, 02:26 PM)
Oh... fly first class ... guess they are not bothered then... some people are conscious of using local bank cards too...u r very high spender yourself .. but you are still happy of getting a Rimowa bag.. ha ha.... different strokes for different folks
*
Maybe I'm just not of that age and not earning as well as them. Haha. To me it's a good bonus to have when you these small winnings. Getting free stuff is fun!

QUOTE(knwong @ Mar 2 2019, 02:27 PM)
Convert to KF is fast. Typically 1 business day for me

But ticket availability is limited. Hate SQ Waitlist system
*
Thanks! When you get placed on waitlist, how long did it take to confirm?
