Btw, for the fee waiver... the annual spend needs to exceed RM80000. This RM80k refers to the combined spend of both visa and amex reserve, correct?

any chance that 80k spend may include balance transfer?
i assume for the 80k, it's the usual t&c such as no bt, personal loan but 80k should include EPP? |

Let's say I swiped rm6000, but it was converted to ezy pay, 0% instalment at merchant. Say for 12 months.
How does that count towards the rm80,000 spend? Will it be apportioned 500 a month or the 6000 would immediately count towards the 80,000 even though by the card anniversary I only paid say, 5 installments? |

QUOTE(Nidz @ Oct 17 2017, 11:21 AM) Based on my understanding, it will be considered upfront. Because the easy pay scheme will also block your credit limit upfront. That's what i thought too. Agree with you. The 5x points for the RM6,000 has been allocated, based on the statement check with my principal. looks like it should count. For example, you have a credit limit of rm30k, and u spent rm6k under 12 months easy payment. Your currently available credit limit for the next 12 months is RM24k only. I believe this same method applies to the annual spending calculation. QUOTE(Kidicarus @ Dec 15 2017, 06:16 PM) The extra benefits are very gimmicky to me..I applied for the 2 cards mainly for the air miles but as a Actually, most likely, you are going to use amex locally to accumulate the points. Non MU supporter, I’m thinking of using a black marker pen to cover up their club logo... And very likely, you have other cards to carry around if you are qualified for this card. And very possible, you may not need to carry the visa. My bf really doesn't carry it around. |

Just want to check, what's the best way to keep track of the 80k per year spending? I have been keeping track by statement amount, ie from the 1st till the 12th statement, and have exceeded that 80k. so by that logic, i will keep track of the 13th to 24th statement for the coming year expense. does this make sense?
for the 2nd year, we think we will have problem achieving this, hence i want to keep track more vigilantly. Pointers will be helpful. |

QUOTE(yoonyin @ Mar 28 2018, 10:10 AM) 1. All the while VISA has slightly better exchange rate compare to AMEX. 2. Any transaction using your VISA or AMEX will obtain TP, just pick any method which you preferable. 3. Transaction MUST set to foreign currency to get 5X TP if you are using VISA. For your case, when you book via airbnb, Set the currency to Ringgit Malaysia, just use AMEX to do payment. Hassle-free! You obtain 5X TP, no exchange rate charge! Just pay what it show on the website! QUOTE(djkeoni @ Mar 28 2018, 10:31 AM) Thanks for the helpful advise! Someone posted in the Maybank Visa Signature thread here that even payment is in RM, but the payment gateway is outside of Malaysia, they still get 5x points.Good to know can transact directly in RM with AMEX then and not have to worry about losing out to currency exchange rates the same should apply to VI. in the case of Airbnb, i'm sure the gateway is not malaysia. QUOTE(charlesj @ Aug 10 2018, 10:42 AM) Recently I upgraded from M2 Platinum into M2 Premier. The new card expiry month is March (instead of July), follows the same expiry month as my old card. So, the 80k minimum usage is from counting from March or July? Wait wait. But to get your waiver on march 2019, you need to spend 80k a year before right? Annual fee is prepay... so your example of march 2019 till 2020 is for you to get waiver at march 2020, which will last until march 2021.Besides, for JoyPay, although there is No TP awarded, does it accumulated for 80k usage? Thanks. Addon: I had got the answer after calling CS. From now till March 2019 will be consider my FREE period. 80k is calculated based on usage from March 2019 till 2020. JoyPay is consider as usage, just that no TP. |

QUOTE(charlesj @ Aug 10 2018, 10:55 PM) The CS explained very clear, I only need to pay my first annual fee on March 2020 (he actually gave me an exact date). Thank for your explanation, got it now. But the funny part is, whatever you spend now until feb 2019, is pointless from the point of achieving that 80k. But of course you get the points for airmiles redemption. Thanks. In order to waive the annual fee on March 2020, I need to spend 80k from March 2019-2020. After paying / waive the fee on March 2020, it will last until Feb 2021 (before the next cut off). |

QUOTE(donhay @ Oct 17 2019, 09:19 AM) For this year, i think my annual spending not gonna hit RM 80,000, should I cut the card? or pay RM800 annual fees, got until Nov to decide. http://www.eti.qa/ef5As we all know this card is really good for airmiles. ps: still wondering how you guys hit 80,000 yearly?? Savings for 5 years by paying with credit card... it's not a promotion to buy and i'm not etiqa employee, but felt like sharing something. But yes, maybe should not keep this card. I utilised other cards too much, can't pool it into the M2P. Also, i always offer to help my in laws pay certain big ticket items... |

QUOTE(djkeoni @ Jan 29 2020, 03:51 PM) MBB's Jan 2020 statement on the last page has a Statement of Credit Card Account which shows you Total Card Usage for 2019. Jan to dec 2019. Does this show you usage from your card anniversary for eg. Feb 2019 to Dec 2019 usage or from Jan 2019 - Dec 2019? Figuring out to determine total card usage hit the 80k min spend or not or whether we need to still call CS to enquire. Any input guys? For keeping track of the 80k, i manually do it. The time period was previously mentioned by fruitie. |

QUOTE(TheLegend27 @ Mar 14 2020, 10:36 AM) yesterday i went to card center. i also ask them i wanna cancel my platinum, how the points go? she said u must spend or convert to miles. Different case though. Her is supp card to main. Which is odd cause most banks run on, every benefit earned by supp goes to main. She missed the boat on having new rule imposed. Your is i assume platinum and premier. They wont allow transfer because premier get better conversion rate. |
