can i ask what so good abt this card ?
previously using Maybank Platinum free for life, today they send me new card (infinite) and told me that is a upgrade but only first year free, next year rm 800 ......

what the point ? thinking of rejecting them.
i have HLB infinite (free for life too) .......

5x points for overseas spend and low conversion rate to enrich, krisflyer and asia miles...they waive annual fee if you spend 50k a year....

but agree, their perks are decimated now, and if you don't anticipate spending 50k on it, just cancel....after 11 months....lol

stand alone vi waived with 50k...

MBB2 premier card introduced in feb 2014 but you get it four years ago..

Don't have 2premier....just the old single vi....never bothered to convert when they launched the 2premier....not sure I can spend 80k....lol

there are limited local merchants accepting amex....and in any case, the bulk of spending is overseas, so it is the same 5 points....

actually, as it turns out, i would have qualified for waiver the last 2 years...lol

just confirm, when making payments through oversea companies, eg amazon.com, britishairways.com, overseas booking sites, payment via VI will give 5 X treatpoints?

If in foreign currency, will be 5x, irrespective of type of payment, including education and gov agency....

If processing is done overseas, even if in myr, also will be 5x...eg uber payments, agoda bookings....

Yes, but at a price....the spread is about 3%, ie you will pay 3% more in myr terms....
