Is there a way to check when the annual RM800 is due?

I can't remember when I first got the card.

Also, if I see the RM800 charge on my card, can I just apply for cancellation and no need to pay it? (of course, other outstanding amount will be settled).

I think previously ppl had mentioned before that you cant waive the AF. 1st year is free of course and for subsequent years you will need to achieve the min. spending amount per year in order to waive. If not then you will have to pay the RM800.

just called in CS to confirm... for amex, need wait for bill cycle.. for VI, will get within 1-2 days of activation, somehow the CS mentioned for VI its automated, but for amex its manually credited by marketing team...

I got mine last month, the event is in Singapore since I got my Rolex over there.

Any chance they selling GMT during this kind of event ?

normally from my experience with MBB's VS, it will be charged on your anniversary month (refer to your card expiry month), it will normally be last 2-3 days before the statement date.

if you want to cancel your card and choose not to pay the AF, you cannot make any swipes after the AF has been charged.. if you made any swipes after that, you are obliged to pay the AF

I didn’t attend the event but honestly to get the GMT@ submariner you need to build at least a year relationship with their CS 😁

thanks, my card expiry month says December but i'm pretty sure I received my card months before that.

The extra months (when u got ur car until 1st anniversary month) will be free..

Example u got in march, ur anni month is june, then march-june will be free to use period... june 2019-june 2020 will be the official first year for you... end of june 2020 they will bill you the AF should you not meet the spending requirement

Even though you get your card earlier than your anniversary month, the 80k spend is counted from the last 12 months spend

yes. I clarify with CS when I get my card.

Check the printing "Valid Thru MM/YY" on the card. The Annual Fee will be charged 1 month before the printed MM in the card.

E.g. the card valid thru is 06/23, then the annual fee will be imposed by end of May. And, you have to spend 80k from 1-Jun-19 -> May-2020 (based on txn date)

In other words, what ever you spend from now til 31May won't be count as part of the 80k spending.

thanks, thats a shame. I suppose if can't meet the 80k spending, then best thing would be to just exchange all TPs for airmiles before the due date.
