Don't think this is private but.....what are the credit limits you guys are getting here? Am having a hard time getting any increase of my 30k......lol
*
Maybank is the most stingy and strict in credit limit, all my other banks got triple my Maybank credit limit. Each time I request, they entertained me by increasing 5k

Should be approved. Minimum income and CL requirement are OK. smile.gif
No la, not intending to cut any cards here. laugh.gif Just adding cards only. biggrin.gif
*
Haha banks sometimes crazy one, my colleague made her first credit card application, salary way above requirement, rejected. Reason given was that her salary is too high lol. I also don't know what nonsense reason is that

laugh.gif Strange that banks will share rejection reason but still what a reason. laugh.gif
*
Because my colleague damn angry and kept seeking for answers, maybe the bank simply give an answer la.
But it's true I do know quite a few high income people, good credit rating, minimum debts etc got rejected, but that's minority, I'm sure you'll get it

It’s ironic that mbb still credit TP manually. I can’t even monitor due to regular spendings ...
*
QUOTE(herc @ Feb 20 2019, 03:15 PM)
and ironically they always have mistake..

i caught them few times, but then maybe more times I am not aware, too much transactions.
*
Yes super hard to monitor as I've huge transactions too, and me too caught them so many times they didn't award me correctly

Now every discussion abt this thread is big pay and top up, and they will spend the money in big pay? Maybe one out of ten, 9 of them will just cash out . Will see how long can it last
*

I don't think MBB cares as long as each top up bigpay is paying mbb merchant fees. Bigpay is the one feeling the pain hence they limited to $10k/mth top up via cc. Having said that, I agree this forum should focus on m2p.
*
Cost to Maybank > BP merchant fee, and Maybank do care. Question now is how much MBB is subsidising this game, when volume gets big enough and BP does nothing then yes, MBB will take action

For restaurants, you can try to link your Amex to Fave and pay with it.

Some restaurants don't have CC terminals for Amex, but they do accept FavePay. And FavePay can link with Amex.
*
QUOTE(rivetindigo @ Mar 5 2019, 11:01 PM)
Sure will try this, but i dont eat much at restaurant.
*
No need restaurant, in fact quite surprisingly quite many small stalls/ shops which only accept cash but also accept Fave

I managed to use Amex : Visa at 2:1 for last year.
Nevertheless, I grouped overseas / foreign currency transaction under Amex (actual usage is Visa, but most cases Amex is acceptable, and both getting x5 TP).
No luxury spending (usually accepting Amex).
A large portion from visa are contributed from insurance though.
*
Very true, 2:1 to me more on no of transactions and smaller value ones. If have big ticket items normally can sign Amex.

My transactions probably 2:1 too, but when comes to value, Amex will be 75%

Value at 2:1, didn't count on number of transaction.
Due to insurance, else Amex value will close to 75-80%.
*
Oh you spend so much on insurance, Amex usually flight tickets, hotel, groceries, e-wallet, some shopping, overseas spending total up quite substantial

Mentioned no of transactions because normally more places reject Amex, so it always give us the feeling can spend too little with it but if value actually comprise much higher

I have been enjoying this so called CS "excellent" service for many years with Maybank. It's nothing to be shout off. That's the basic requirements of all CS in the world. You all sounded like just discover oasis after battering through endless desert
*
QUOTE(fruitie @ May 3 2019, 01:05 AM)
Well, you mentioned Maybank, so I'm curious. If it's SG or other bank, I'm not so surprised.
*
QUOTE(skty @ May 3 2019, 10:28 AM)
This is the minimum requirement of CS regardless of what business they are into.

But too bad lousy CS is all around due to tolerance, culture, policy, politic, etc.
*
I do think Maybank cs is good, at least when we compare to Malaysian standard, if want to compare to other countries like Japan etc, then of course we're still far from perfect. Out of 10 customer service experience from different industry/companies, at least 7-8 are terrible.

Anyway, I encountered once, only once, when I called the cs wished me happy belated birthday, that's at least something from Maybank, or I would say from this staff who took the effort to wish

Their follow up has also been good, ie when they say they check something and will call back, they have never failed to follow up

shocking.gif how they gonna paying off the outstanding/debt?
*
Declared income doesn't mean anything, those undeclared ones will be shocking.
They know that many out there, be it legal or illegal, have lots of cash etc, so insisting on declared income is not wise anymore.
As long as you can spend, who cares, if you can't spend, then just pay the annual fee. Either way, they still make money.
Also, lowering the income increase user base

Can, but more rational one is value it around 5cent ringgit per miles , for KF and AM.

10000 miles can worth more than 1000 for me, but in reality I won’t fork out cash for those ticket, so any additional cost for me is not nessesary
*
Very logical thinking, many failed to understand the real value of miles.

There might be two different answer to the same question, maybe can do an experiment.
If you ask these 2 questions independently, might have 2 different answers. I've tried this before asking a friend.

a) If economy class cost RM 2k and business class cost RM 3k, will you fly business [No]

b) If business class cost RM 10k, but you can buy miles at 4k only, will you buy the miles at 60% discount? [YES]

Could be true, I managed to use Amex before, and also failed before. Can't remember which merchant.

It’s been a while since I last dine using this card. Ive rechecked the benefits and it seems no more 50% for SPG hotels? Same goes to speciality restaurants like Prime, Prego etc
*
Think no more, my friend mentioned 30% now. So it's no more attractive, Westin dim sum already can get the same price from Fave

Means instead of 50%, it is only 30% off?
*
I haven't verified myself but my friend went, only 30%.
Previously many shared here that there's lots of confusion and different info given by Maybank and the hotel too.
So I still unsure until I really check it out myself

All these fintechs, e-wallet, cross border remittance are challenging traditional banks.

Just wondering, imagine Maybank improve their MAE, and say allow CC top up into their own app which award points. It will be interesting to see, how many Maybank customers they can retain, and how many they can acquire from other e-wallets and banks
