Sorry I just check if travel with Cathay transit at hk, the cast paid on tax will be around 1k plus to 2k plus depend on destination
*
may I know this surchage is for J class from KL to which country?

QUOTE(act one @ May 14 2019, 11:40 AM)
Last time I change KF from Singapore to Munich.

After that i check Asia Miles.

WTF... so fucking cheap on AsiaMiles.

Decide to all in AM.

Finger cross on AM.
*
if my main concern is the surcharge, should I concentrate on KF?
i am not sure how much is the surcharge difference between KF and AM for J class return Tokyo?

Okay, I completed the Comparison table between EM/KF/AM for some popular destinations:
Frequent Flyer Comparison

Lots of you were asking many pages back which is the best FFP to redeem.
Have a look at the table and decide for yourselves.
All amounts are for return flights, based on the cheapest redemption ticket (Basic on EM, Saver on KF, Standard on AM). No doubt these miles required might not be available when you book due to availability / wishlist issues, but it serves as a good benchmark.
(p.s. I don't have sufficient miles in my AM account that's why I'm unable to check the taxes required for J class redemption)

My conclusions are:
1. EM is good for Economy Class if you want direct flights out from KUL, but only to the rather limited routes it flies to. EM is poor value if you're redeeming Business Class
2. KF & AM is good in that you can fly to many other cities, but the downside (or maybe an upside?) is that there's an additional transit.
3. AM has way higher taxes. (Some of you have mentioned that AM requires less miles than KF, but I don't see too much of a difference, unless perhaps it's because I'm comparing the baseline cheapest redemption amounts?).
4. KF there's potential to redeem their impressive Suites Class & AM you can get Qatar QSuites or JAL Suites.
*
wow... thank you for spending your personal time to compile this...

may I know
KF = always transit at Singapore?
AM = always transit at Hong Kong?

if i use AM redeem ticket from KL to Sydney, it will fly from KL->Hong Kong->Sydney ?? sound like not so efficiency...

If you don't mind Enrich miles, HL VI is not that bad. 1 EM per RM2.80 spent and 1 EM for 1.80 overseas spent. Again, this is not for everyone as it will be automatically converted to Enrich account (and Enrich only) every month on your statement date.

e-wallet included?

sorry for OOT.

Citi premier miles
Earn 1 PremierMiles for every RM3 spent locally and 2 PremierMiles for every RM3 equivalent spent in foreign currencies and selected online travel merchants

may I know how much PremierMiles needed for 1,000 EM / KF / AM?

I search this but not sure is this for PremierMiles? https://www.citirewards.com/tygr-web/partne...points-transfer

Did comparison of some of the better cards recommended in this thread. I already have the first 4 cards. Prob need to apply for HLB VI, though it's only Enrich. If you don't want to limit yourself to Enrich, then go for Citi PM 4.50:1

I also studying the next card for miles.
Another consideration is HSBC VS.
Earn 5x reward points for every RM1 spend online and participating malls.

Conversion rate to miles:
10,500 reward points = 1,000 EM (RM 2.1 : 1 EM)
15,000 reward points = 1,000 KF/AM (RM 3 : 1 KF/AM)

Donwside is got capped to 5x reward points. Total 5x reward points is capped at 18,750/month. After that only can earn 1x. Please correct me if my study is wrong.

There are people who can meet the 50k spend but may have problems with 80k....and choose to keep the single card.....

With the increase in waiver amount, no point keeping the single card, migrate to the dual card, and maximise the points with amex....

I am one of them....I have 2 principal vi cards.....100k can meet....but now just migrate to dual, cancel one vi.....
*
I have MUVI only now... since it increase minimum spending from 50k to 80k, i am thinking to get AMEX to pair with MUVI (minimum spending 80k for M2P)

last time this is not allowed except cancel existing MUVI, and reapply M2P again (MUVI+AMEX)...

not sure now can just direct add AMEX to make it M2P since their minimum spending amount is same 80k after recent change?

I have another principal vi care under my wife ....her income was just 15k short of the original requirement, so they required an FD in her name as 'security'....now the income requirement is so low, I requested they return the FD to me, they grudgingly agreed but reduced her limit to the lowest level....

Now the AF waiver is so high, will cancel just before the due date next year....

In the application, they do ask what name you want on the card.....so, if you put wife's name .....?
*
me too plan to request them to return the FD after inocme requirement and benefit adjusted... may I know need to request them at branch or call CS? do i need to provide income document again?

i believe the lowest level credit limit is 30k? that is my current credit limit.

Can I check with CS for my current spending? Not sure if I have achieved 80k but I think it may not, so need to plan for the remaining months. Still long way to go, until next year's April actually. tongue.gif

But now curious to know. I'm lazy to download all statements and calculate myself, moreover I'm not sure it was counted from which date onward. tongue.gif

found out that my MUVI anniversary date is fall in October, but i only apply this card beginning of this year (if i remember correctly).

do i need to spend 80k from beginning of this year to October to get free annual fee?

You won't be charge AF coming this Oct. Only start to charge next year Oct. Hence the 80k spend will start from Oct this year

For those who performed 1x TP transaction during Man Utd won day, you may want to check are your TP credited correctly.

Mine was given 1x on the transaction day, 3x bonus and missing 1x. File a complaint to CS and the missing TP was credited.
*
QUOTE(tohff7 @ Sep 19 2019, 04:20 PM)
Yes, u should get additional 4x.

Someone mention this long time ago. All transactions will get 5x TP (meaning additional 3-4x TP bonus) except for government transactions since they earned 0x TP
*
learn new thing today... all the while i tot utilities only fix to get 1x TP...
