How's the AF waiver-bility of this card? Usual requests will be granted? Some banks are darn strict.

Or maybe can try using Premier Wealth status to waive

If you need to pay RM 800 a year on the AF then the card is not for you. The miles you earn for spending less than the free AF qualification is not worth the RM 800 you need to pay. Go for other free for life VI or WMC such as ambank if you want to collect miles. It also comes with unlimited PPL access.

If you're gonna use it for utilities or petrol, i'd suggest an alternative which is the MBB Krisflyer Gold Card. AF is lower and chances are if your spending is high on the card, you can call in to get a waiver.
*
Alternatively M2C Amex Plat also gives rm2.12/mile with free for life. The $800 AF for Premier seems to fast track mile collection plus adding the VI for merchants that don't accept Amex for rm2.5/mile.

based on my experience, asia miles and krisflyer takes about 3 - 7 working days for transfer to show up.. I've had a krisflyer miles conversion not showing up until 2 weeks after transaction. it seems that they submit the conversion application by batches and it depends on luck.

The fastest transfer i've experienced so far is with enrich.. request today morning, next day already credited to Enrich.

it's the best conversion for Malaysian cards around.. let us know if you can find better..

VI earns x2 points for local transaction. So it's about RM 2.38 = 1 Mile
AR earns x5 points for local transaction. Rate is RM 0.95 = Mile

provided u can spend exactly the 10x/8x/5x categories, otherwise bad for the annual fee.

Have you read their T&C? It's one of the most confusing ones in the world.

Ya agree, the point earning system is a bit complex.

I cut my HSBC card in front of the pyramid sign up counter in protest of false information during sign up. Bloody hell, before sign up, semua pun boleh.. after sign up, the T&C keep changing and restrict...

Points earning also limited.. i do one transaction already max out the earning. Worse still, it's based on first come first serve from a limited pool of points.
