But the simplest and fastest method to get the Maybankard 2 Cards is by visiting a Maybankard Centre at 1U, The Gardens or KLCC where your application will be process within few hours (depends on situation). Click here to read Gen-X article on it. Please note, it is Maybankard Centre and NOT Maybank Branch.

You can check your Maybankard 2 Cards transactions online with Maybank2U.com
If you do not have a Current or Savings Account with Maybank but you want a Maybank2U online account to check your Maybankard 2 Cards transactions, you need to go to a Maybank branch to get it done. Better that you inform the officer that you want the Maybankard 2 Visa or MasterCard as the main account and add your Maybankard 2 Amex to it. However if you want your Maybankard 2 Amex to be the main card for the account, when you first log in to register username add 0 to the 15 digits of your Amex card. Maybank2U for Maybank Credit Cards - You Don't Need To Have A Maybank Current or Savings Account.

However, if you are new to credit cards, I strongly recommend that you DO NOT opt for the paperless option (i.e. receive our monthly statements online) until you familiarize yourself with Statement Balance, Outstanding Balance, Minimum Payment and Payment Due Date.

Maybankard 2 Cards FAQ:

1. Must read - GST information
2. This is a 2 cards combo - AMEX together with master/visa, you CANNOT cancel the master/visa and activate the AMEX alone.
3. The rebate is calculated according to the CALENDER month and not per your monthly statement cycle.
4. The rebate is usually credited to the AMEX card on the 1st or 2nd of the month.
5. No more GST for Maybankard 2 Cards (both principal and supplements) starting from 01 April 2015.
6. If you receive the cards through postage, you can activate it online through M2U (though some reported activation is not required). If you get your cards from the bank/credit card center counter, you do not need to activate it.
7. You do not need to post back the acknowledgment copy when you receive the card by post/courier.
8. The weekend rebate capped of RM50/month for the Maybankard 2 Amex is shared between the Principal and Supp cards.

10. You don't need to have a Savings Accounts or other Banking Accounts to have a M2U account for your MBB 2 Cards. You need to go to the branch to sign up for M2U to view your transactions online. Some branches are known to be unable to link both cards into a single M2U account.

15. You earn 1x TP everyday with your Maybankard 2 Visa or MasterCard and including Petrol. Good for stations that does not accept AMEX.
16. If you link your paypal account to MBB 2 AMEX, it will take 2-3 days before it is shown in M2U.
17. This is what is mentioned behind our Maybankard Statement - Foreign Charges converted by AMEX apply a coversion factor of 2.5% to the converted amount plus 0.5% administration cost imposed by Maybank.
18. The Maybankard 2 AMEX earns you 1x TP for every RM charged to your card by default. The rest of the TP is recorded as 4x bonus TP (written as MAYBANKARD 2 AMEX 4X BONUS in your statement), making it a total of 5x TP for all charges made to your MBB2 AMEX.
19. To earn the 5% cash back, TRANSACTION DATE shown in M2U or statement must be on weekend (Sat/Sun), posting date does not matter.
20. The 5% Cash Back payout MONTH is subjected to POSTING DATE not transaction date. You will always get the cash back on the 1st day of the following month straight after the POSTING DATE. Here's a detail example by ronnie

PAYPAL + Amex + RM = no go
PAYPAL + Amex + foreign currency = good to go
PAYPAL + Visa/Master + RM/foreign currency = good to go

I have placed 10k promotional 4.22% fd 2 weeks ago to pledge for maybank 2 platinum. I showed the staff there the offer letter by card centre and they open for me the fd and said I can get the card in 2 weeks time. They even called me up a few days later to pay the rm10 stamp duty fee.

But just now, the staff there called me and said that I can't pledge the promotional fd to get the cc, they ask me to open another GIA account to proceed for me.

Is there anything I can do for this? Can I write to Bank Negara regarding this since they provide me the wrong information at 1st.
*
@alexwsk regarding my question in previous post, the staff there provide me the wrong information and they even called me up to pay the stamp duty fee a few days later. If it wasn't for the cc, I won't lock my money into the promotional fd. I lost rm10 stamp duty fee, 2 weeks interest for my money and not to mention the petrol and time I wasted.

Honestly, if you pledge FD, you can get the card the next day.

Staffs over the counters are well known to be "Blur".

Always follow up, esp when you are using cold hard cash to get the CC.

If I were you, I'd screw them up upside down until their manager comes out and rectify the situation.

Well, if they charged it now, I believe you will still get the 1x. Better change to other card if your insurance charge next month 15 April.

Thanks for the suggestion. My VOX max out each month for other online purchases. Shall use PBB VS perhaps. Hassle to stop the auto debit. Any method to change payment mode besides going to counter? Online available?

Using Amex coz 5x TP plus the RM2 rebate for auto debit. Monthly bill only RM80. Small difference only in returns.

Have changed auto debit credit cards many times (for insurance too) each time the T&C changes.

allow me to ask some silly verification first,

1. has the amex been used to pay for any online purchases before?
2. the CVC number, was it the one at the back or at the front that you used?
3. what is the rejection message?

That is NOT entirely true. Most types of retail transaction for Maybankard 2 Card American Express will still earn 5x TP. Only those categories stated are affected, which some are earning only 2x TP currently reduced to no point or 1x TP only. The new affected categories are petrol and EPP transaction, which are still earning 5x TP at the moment.

every zing card that is linked to a credit card, when the card is cancelled, the zing card will have 3 months of validity before it expired. this is the reason why i refused to apply for zing card after i read the terms and conditions.

what you can do?

1. spend all the balance within 90 days
2. visit touch and go hub and get them to transfer your balance to a 'standalone' touch and go card

After considering, i will continue holding MBB 2 cards, because of weekend 5% cb for dining. While for Visa, totally can put in drawer as i replaced with Visa Signature.

Now got to looking for another card for insurance / other expenses.
I found out OCBC 365 and HLB Essential are suitable.

this is from Maybank's FAQ:

18. I would like to terminate my Maybankard credit card. Can I continue to use my Zing Card?
Your Maybankard credit card and T'nG Zing Card are linked, so you won't be able to auto reload your Zing Card after cancelling your Maybankard credit card.
(Note: You are required to utilise the unused balance of your Zing Card within 3 months from the date of your Maybankard credit card cancellation.)

Mach card is easier to manage than Wise. Just pick the package you want and others expenses will get 0.2%.

my spend on dining usually got payback from friends and family, to earn cash back smile.gif
occasionally maybank have some dining discount as well, since there is no GST, so it still worth to keep

I seldom dine out during weekends and places I go don't accept AmEx. sleep.gif
MACH is just handy for me. laugh.gif

So, in conclusion, good to have both. laugh.gif

Banks to lose RM300mil with fee cap

PETALING JAYA: Banks are expected to suffer at least RM300mil in lost revenue annually due to the new interchange fee cap implementation, according to RAM Ratings.

“Given the eventual cap of 0.48% from 2021 onwards, the industry may lose even more revenue in the long run,” it said in a statement yesterday.

To offset the loss of income, RAM said some banks had substantially scaled down their credit card reward programmes.

This is the reason of the 5x TP revision.

They will reply you to fill in a form and submit 3 months latest payslip.
Then only it will process. Mine from sending form to all only takes 3-4 working days.

Yes, call banks to avoid hassle. They may suspect fraud cases and will call you then incur high costs for roaming. If they can't get you may block your card.

Service charge + daily exchange rate. Refer here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1845691

Why call merchants? Do they do that? Usually they will straight cardholders, I don't know how smart it is to call merchants instead of cardholders. laugh.gif
Anyway, just to avoid hassle, call lo. I call every time I go overseas though it is painful for me especially I have so many cards, of course I don't activate for all. I only do for few pieces only. laugh.gif

I only do for few pieces only. laugh.gif

so that the cardholder don't have to pay roaming fees and not all cardholders on their phones overseas. i don't know how, but the bank was able to call to that specific counter to talk to me when i swipe it. if can't speak to you, then probably fraud. lol

Good for you then. I rather spend with peace of mind. I went to Japan for vacation and forgot to inform banks because I was so busy before I flew there.
Then, when I swiped my stuff for the third time, they called ma already but I missed the call as I was at Shinjuku station, world's busiest train station. Then, I called back and asked what's the matter, they told me it is due to suspicious of fraud cases. Luckily I have my corporate line, can call all I want and charge to company's bill. laugh.gif

Quick questions:

Say, my cards expiring in September.

1. Can i go straight to 1u and apply for an upgrade to Platinum before expiry? (now i'm eligible) Do i need to bring along any supportive documentations?

2. Can i apply balance transfer at 1u branch? Anyone did that before?

Thanks.

what's interchage fee revenue? charges to the merchant is it when a card is swipe? 1.8% still very low leh now reduce to 1.1%???
*
http://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...of-debit-cards/

http://www.theborneopost.com/2016/03/18/ba...t-card-reforms/

What is interchange fee?

Interchange fee is a fee payable between the merchant’s bank (also known as the “acquirer”) and the cardholder’s bank (also known as the “issuer”) in a payment card transaction.

Interchange fee is typically payable by the acquirer to the issuer to compensate the issuer for certain costs incurred by the issuer in facilitating a payment card transaction. Interchange fee may also flow from the issuer to the acquirer to compensate acquirers for the cost of enabling payment card acceptance by merchants.

What is merchant fee or merchant discount rate (MDR)?

Merchant fee or MDR is a fee payable by a merchant to an acquirer for enabling the merchant to accept payment cards.

What is the relationship between the interchange fee and the MDR?

Interchange fee is incorporated into the MDR by the acquirer. Increases in the interchange fee would cause acquirers to raise the MDR.

There is no good card forever. Better look for more stable benefit card instead of keep transferring the insurance especially standing instruction.

Hey guys, I think someone used my AMEX card for transaction. Sigh

Called CS and told them this case and they asked me to fill the dispute form and sent to their dispute team.

The illegal usage quite a lot and in USD someone. Anyone kena before? And how is the result ah? Just scare that I still need to pay them if I didn't use it. Sigh.

You are not going to use it now, will only use only next year onward though already delayed to 1st July 2017. For now still signature, once it's implemented no more signature, only PIN.

got this error when login, or doing transaction? check your transaction limit. my sister's encountered the same last month, then found out the transaction limit auto-set to lower down to some figure.

I'm booking hotels who is paid using Baht and Korean Won. Is it true if i use AMEX, it will convert to USD before charging to MYR again to the card. Is it safe to say its better to use mastercard in this case.

No it is not safe to say that it's better to use MasterCard in this case. I myself have 2 MasterCard, one from HSBC and the other from Ambank. While Ambank gives me a very good forex rate on my foreign transaction , the one from HSBC charges more than AMEX does !

Not certainly, I used my maybank visa signature & M2amex in europe and the rates was suprisingly lower with amex. Not the 1st time it has happened though.

auditor job so easy.. just criticize other pipu work.. I admit, it was a badly done table.. but even I read it also can understand the table ..

visa/mastercards are not affected by the change.. they still remain 1x points, same as always, except for the 0 points for government transactions..

amex cards are affected. all now become 1xpoints, except government transactions which is also 0 points.

in summary, this card, be it visa, mastercard or amex is now the same value for certain types of transactions..

but amex still 5xpoints for overseas, dining, entertainment, electronics,etc..

wasn't too hard to comprehend the table..?

not gonna argue that it was a terrible table.. but i think common sense tells u that the change only affects the Amex cards of the Maybank 2 cards.. visa/mastercard keep in drawer anyways.

My concern was whether it affected retail, telco and or overseas transactions, which clearly the table shows it doesnt..

so the card is still OK. Whereas people here are over-exaggerating.

Yes, I also agreed whatever not mentioned should be not affected.

I'm not affected because most of my swiped stuff are retail for my AmEx, mentioned since first day it was out. laugh.gif

Just that tak boleh tahan the table, it is very badly done. Decided to give them a wake up call.

I also vy hard to understand the table for the new regulations?

Since I got both Visa and Amex for Maybank 2 cards, does that means it's the best to use only Amex? Visa should just keep it?

Amex 5x. Visa 2x. So, Amex first. If the merchant doesn't accept Amex, this is when u use Visa. smile.gif

Even before the revision, M2Cards Visa/MasterCard are pretty useless. I don't keep it in my wallet anymore, already long time stored and locked in drawer.

If you pay a lot of utilities bills, perhaps cards with cash back is better for you. smile.gif

I have a simple question to ask.

let say my current maybank CC outstanding is rm8000.
Minimum it says on the statement, i need to pay rm400.

So let say if i pay double eg. rm800 monthly, how much month do i need before i can settle everything, taking account on the monthly interest?

Thanks all!

Balance Transfer = transfer your outstanding CC amount to other bank's CC under your preferable installment plan at lower or 0% interest rate.

thinking to cancel this M2C since I have Ikhwan already and Amex Platinum (which recently discontinued Plaza Premium Lounge). Maybe I should apply Petronas Platinum for petrol 8xTPs since M2C & Amex Plat also reduced to 1xTP for petrol.

i didnt coz i dont intend to buy anything from them anymore. in fact they suggested to me not to buy from the maybank exclusive and go buy at their regular page because the two system is not the same. the one for maybank exclusive is not entitled to exchange to another product like their usual page, only can request refund. they say that it still in midst of "improving the system"

Why not? Because of the iPhone issue? Not their fault but anyway that case is solved.
I bought my LG V10 from there and my sis bought her Redmi Note 3 from there too.
Also I have bought quite a lot of stuff from there, very pleasant experience.

All these depend on luck.

OT:Yeah, I bought a lot from 11streets using the coupon given.. Ended up still very cheap with the cashback from bank..

Fruitie, what is the solution for the iPhone case? Seller replace or 11streets replace/ refund?

buy from lazada can get extra cb from shopback/milkadeal. 11street can't.
but of course some items sold in 11street is very much cheaper than lazada even if you minus the cb you will get from shopback/milkadeal.

It has been a very long time since I got the dining cashback with the Maybank AMEX 2 Card. Prior to Aug 2015 revision of the T&C I know that the cashback will be credited on the last day of the calendar month (Jan 31, Apr 30 etc).

But today as I was expecting my CB to be credited on March 31 (which I just realized it did not), so I went to check on the T&C again then I saw this

----------from MaybankAmex CB T&C-------------------------
6. Cash Back that are awarded shall be automatically credited and reflected in the following monthly Card Account Statement.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

So if your statement date is on 12th (current month), and the dining transaction was on the 20th (previous month), when can I expect the CB credited into my account?

Thank you guys

cb always always last day of the month. simple as that.

now, cb on 31 March, so you would see the cb in your 12 April statement lo. in m2u, you can see the cb amount tomorrow or the day after.

if your statement date before cb date (e.g. 28 March), means it will be reflected in next statement (e.g. 28 April) as well. basically, it gets "longer" to "enjoy" the cb biggrin.gif

regardless of before or after cb date, it will be reflected (shown) in next statement.

Lazada has a clear return policy. I once got a faulty camera from them. Initiated the return via their website, they sent a new one to me after I sent the faulty one. For Superbuy, there was once I got a tablet with a malfunctioning screen, they told me to claim warranty. dry.gif Lelong and 11street I believe if you have any issues, they will ask you to deal with the sellers directly.

yes, that's why in lazada you can't find seller's details but 11street or lelong can.

Thanks for pointing out that Petrol transaction. Initially I thought of AMEX still giving 5X for the petrol transaction and thinking to keep it but now I have to think twice.

Personally for Lazada having the best return policy, they even cover the return cost. You can simply handover your item to any postlaju and poslaju will just accept it as it has already been pre-paid

WHile 11st return policy has no benefit to the buyer.

just read it...i hardly use this card for petrol since I use Petronas card. If they revised the 8x for weekend for the petronas then I have no more reason to keep all cards from maybank. Probably just 1 card for emergency purpose

If u like petronas, you can try to apply CIMB Petronas card, 3% if spend under 3k and 7% if spend above 3k, capped at RM50

Or if you dont mine only fill Fri or Sat, then can also apply MBB Ikhwan, 5%

I am using both interchangeably due to statement date to extend interest free period. As of now Petronas 8x = 2% cashback it is quite fast to accumulate points to redeem RM50 Petronas card for 20k points

Adding 5x point from AMEX it assist to make it even faster.

So if AMEX other transaction remains 5x then I'll stick to it coz removing petrol for 5x will not impact me at all actually.

Seems many read it wrong...

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/CVP-PlatCard.pdf

basically the √ is means impacted....

from the read, all Amex cards under MBB is revised for TP...
EPP, Utilities, Petrol, Education, Insurance, all down to 1x TP conversion...no more 5x or 2x before this...
you see "x" on other card here is because those cards are already at 1x TP conversion...
The one that affecting all cards is the Gov dept spending, all 0 TP...

so its a major cutdown on TP for MBB Amex...

thinking of change or scrap it...

From the current prduct info taken from the website

"5x TreatsPoints for all spend on your Maybank2 American Express Card in Malaysia or anywhere else in the world except Government Bodies, Education Institutions and Insurance Provider."

So my understanding would be all other spending - groceries, online purchase, any other swipe will still entitled 5x. If that is the case like I said, have no impact to me. AMEX 2card still good then.

The remaining 1x point equivalent to 0.25% CB. So having other cards that have 0.3% above probably slightly better. Keep the card for promo especially those related to EPP

i had the same thought as victorywp's. use cards that gives others/retail cashback. biggrin.gif

so far, i know UOB VOX gives 0.3% and HLB Mach gives 0.2%.
