Hello guys,

Last week I bought a xiaomi mini router

Setting up and everything is not a problem but the problem is with the connectivity

It seems that I can connect the 5Ghz internet without problem when I am in the living room area, I can also connect the 2.4Ghz without any problem at the living room area

But when I go downstairs while connecting to the 2.4Ghz, or even when I am at the stairs (take note still full bar connection)

The internet drops and not connecting, when I am downstairs the WiFi signal is there but I cannot connect until I go back upstairs at the living room area

Not to mention when I use the 2.4Ghz, the speed drops until 1-5Mbps (currently subscribing 30Mbps)

I have used this xiaomi router at my other house without problem (subscribed 10Mbps, can get 10Mbps without problem even downstairs and using the 2.4Ghz)

Try to consider Linksys WRT1900ACS.

Congested 2.4Ghz?

Use the least congested channel.

try update the latest firmware v2.8.91 & use non-overlapping channel 1, 6, 11

last resort, try developer firmware or ****

maybe this router machine wireless sensitivity mechanism got problem (the 2.4ghz part) or the receiving hardware sensitivity problem

as suggested, try update your router firmware first & choose different channel, and also update your reception hardware driver.

if can, use other receiving point such as laptop, phone to determine if same problem happens when go downstairs. in order to confirm if it is the router own problem. if firmware update cannot solve, need to RMA router warranty.

Hello

so far I've tried

1) Remove router somewhere where there is less interference
2) change channels (multiple time at the 2.4Ghz)
3) Update to newest firmware and set to English
4) use up to four devices to check the problem (laptop, a tablet and phone). Same problem occured where when I go to the first half of the stairs, the internet is missing but when I go upstairs there is no problem. The internet is also awfully slow when connected to the Xiaomi router (2.4Ghz)

the last thing u can do before send for warranty:

put the router at different spot to test, maybe this time at downstair, then u walk upstair, is that problem exist again

or choose not your present place to c, such as your friend house where he got similar router, just test side by side then can confirm router problem already.

since this is dual band router, not very extraordinary if either band got problem since its hardware is using 2 different band wireless amplifier inside.
