AVG is definitely effective against the virus. However, u should try Kaspersky online scanner since ur av not functioning http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner (perhaps takes longer to scan at the moment)

If you can't Open Kaspersky Online Scanner, then your HOST file has been compromised. We will discuss that later if that case really happens. Cheers!

i didnt reformatted the entire drive. just C. i got 3 harddisk. 2 internal and 1 external.

didnt format the external 1. tot the virus was not in there.. i back up all my files to my external drive , thats another reason y i didnt format it.

ive searched on how to clean this virus , and it seems like this is kinda new virus ? is it ? i dont know .. coz i found only a few of solution in google and yahoo.. but it doesnt help me also.

reformatting my entire drive ( c: d: e: g: h(external) is my last choice.
hope i can found another solution..

windows task manager also cant open. any site, windows that contents antivirus cant b open as well.

ive download tuneup ultilities since i cant open task manager. bt i failed to stop those viruses.

Did u installed double av programs in the system? If u did, that might be the reason of disablement of ur av program (due to conflicts with each other). Thus, try remove Avast and perform a full scan with AVG (if executable/with updated definitions)
