I did read that HD6xx benefits from tube amps, maybe something for future upgrades

Hmm below RM400 will ngam ngam rule out good amps like Schiit Magni 3 (USD99) or JDS Lab Atom (USD99). All the cheap options have pros and trade-offs.
Amps (line out from motherboard): - Fiio A3 - Topping A30 - SMSL SAP-2 DAC+Amp combos (USB): - Fiio E10K - SMSL M3 - FX-Audio DAC-X6 This post has been edited by Currylaksa: May 23 2019, 08:18 PM |

The 6XX / 650 upper-mids are pumped up maybe a db(?), and the bass is quite lite.
Very pleasant and detailed if you listen to a lot of accoustic guitar or MTV Unplugged type stuff. But if you listen to EDM or hip hop, really no kick. It also exposes old classic EDMs (e.g. late 90s to early 2000s) to sound hollow and cheap. This post has been edited by Currylaksa: Jun 4 2021, 03:09 PM |
