Hi everyone,

I made a mistake in buying a laptop like 2 yrs ago (I thought I could upgrade certain parts doh.gif ), but it was ok because I was not running demanding applications.

I would need this laptop here mainly for audio production (Ableton Live), a little video editing (maybe Premier Pro) and some casual gaming (GTA I guess? tongue.gif). To put it into perspective, something that has good specs and can run demanding programs.

I dont mind if its a HDD because I will need lots of storage.

With that in mind, I also want this laptop to be portable and I can bring it along where I go without feeling like I'm carrying rocks in my bag. sweat.gif

Ideally, I would prefer my budget to be around 4.5k but not exceeding 5k.

Thank you.

Lenovo Thinkpad E450 i7 fits your requirement nicely and you can top it up to 16GB Ram and still be below your budget

Oh geez, Ultra Low Voltage i5/i7 is a no-no for me. I am having a bad experience with it regarding performance issues.

Well, it doesnt have to have such good battery life as I will mostly charge somewhere and use it.

Exceeded my budget... sweat.gif
The laptop I'm using now is a HP Pavillion something (I forgot teh model) running i5 4200u. I;m not sure you would want to have it traded in laugh.gif , it really is weak.

Did a little searching, I think I would settle for MSI's Apache GE62 6QC, specs wise. Should I go for MSI or other brands?

I also have that shorlisted. Only thing is I'm not sure if I should trust the Dell brand sad.gif. I had bad experience before with Dell be it desktop or laptop.

Anyway, still open to more suggestions.
