Anyone playing Winning Eleven DS? I just finish the World Tour mode (or at least I think it is called since the menu is in Japanese)

Anyways, it would be nice to have some WFC matches with local players. Anybody?

Well...I think its pretty good in terms of gameplay and graphics, my colleagues have the same opinion as well. But don't that my word for it, I've got nothing to compare it with since I don't play Fifa on the DS.

The AI is so-so only, until you face S-rank opponents that you unlock in World Tour mode but they are not unbeatable. Hehe.

Edit: There's a mini review on my blog (here)

I think some may be holding out, and waiting for Pro Evo to come out instead.

Question is, will Pro Evo and W.E play together on NiWiFi?

[Edit] Seeing as console counterpart has been made by two devs, whereby Pro Evo is a "port" and Konami dev. team is totally different, Konami team just oversees what the English devs. do.

But DS versions may be the same, just with translations.

Yeah I guess..its nicer to play a soccer game when you can read the players' names.

As for this...I really don't have an idea. Maybe we'll just wait till Pro Evo comes out.

Dunno bout you, but I think the boringness is due to the A.I in the early stages where most teams are still unlocked...not much of a challenge. And yeah, the WiFi lags (but I did get a decent game or two) , thats why I'm looking for local players.

Well, like I mentioned in my previous post, Winning E and Pro Evo aren't actually the same (feel free to prove me wrong). To my knowledge, Pro Evo is basicly a new game built from ground up, but supervised by Konami W.E devs to make sure it plays exactly the same. You can see the tiny differences between the two titles(gameplaY). Also, graphic detail also varies, I prefer W.E's grainy effect.

[Edit] And like I also said, this MAY NOT affect the Handheld version which is W.E DS smile.gif .. Omg, Winning E 11 for DS would be WEEDS.. LOL laugh.gif

Same here, but I noticed the difference after playing both titles. Winning E, I like smile.gif The animation seems more fluid than it's english counterpart, gameplay speed too.

Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 (US) and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (Euro) have been released for their respective regions.

Having played the Euro version, it is safe to say that both are essentially the same game as Winning Eleven DS (JAP), nothing has been changed except for the language options (doesn't matter to me IMHO).

When it comes down to pricing, the US version of the game is selling for USD 39.90 (here) at Play-Asia while the Japanese version is selling for USD 9.90 (here) on the same site. If you are looking for a bargain, I would suggest the Japanese version of the game as the Jap text doesn't really pose a problem in playing the game.

I don't have the PS2 version of the game, so I don't know how it would play/look like.

Player stats? Yes, they're available in this game (Attack, Defence Balance, Stamina, etc including which foot the player uses).

As for strategy, choosing formations, changing team strategy (e.g. Attack up the middle, Right side attack, Left side attack, etc) as well as the option to load and save formation data are available.

Since I'm playing both Japanese and Euro versions, maybe I'll do a FAQ or something. smile.gif

As for the player list, I usually use Arsenal and the player list looks okay. No comments bout the other teams though.

WiFi might be a problem. After some testing earlier this evening, it was found that all three games: Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 (US), Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (Euro) and Winning Eleven DS (Jap) differ in terms of WFC online play.

Owners of the US version won't be able to play against owners of the Euro and Jap versions (and vice versa). IMHO, this sucks as I was looking forward to playing against European gamers.

Credit and thanks to Reveur for his time and effort in this experiment. I had a WFC match with him (both using the US version) and the experience is similar to that of the Japanese version of the game. Lag was evident and announced itself when the game suffered a slow down for several seconds in the first half. Other than that, it was an OK match.

I might consider buying the US version, at least that version would have a sizeable amount of players to play online with, and without getting disconnect as often as the other two versions.
