A malay good friend of mine came to my house, my mom cooked vegetarian food as usual, but obviously all these years our pots/plates/utensils have been used to cook/serve pork right, my friend said of course he doesnt mind, but some muslims would.
true or not?

as long as you ask your muslim friend and he dont mind, i think its good to go. important is to ask them 1st, you never know some people will go ape over issue like this. my friend once told me his muslim colleague die die also wont enter seafood restaurant even though the restaurant did not sell pork.

My Indian friend told me when he had house warming party, he invited some Muslim friends and assured them that the food was halal. On that particular night one of them (quite close to the host) went with her family much earlier than indicated and when she reached the house, all she saw was the host family members and some family friends (non-Muslims). Then she had the audacity to ask the host " why no Muslims , food not halal ? then she and her family decided to go back. She herself went there so much earlier and saw no Muslim and just assumed the food not halal. If she had went there a bit late, she would have saw many Muslims and the Muslim caterer. The host told me no more future invitation for her for any function including those not involving food. This post has been edited by Divou: Mar 10 2016, 12:55 PM

You can clean the "haram" cookware by washing it 7 times with water, with one of them using a mixture of soil+water. This post has been edited by BOTAK_WAI: Mar 10 2016, 01:02 PM

Yup....and luckily my cainis fren understand that... His/her mom serve me everything, but prevented by my fren...then we go eat somewhere else...
When a restaurant or hotel want to obtain halal cert, they need to 'sertu' those cooking utensils..normally they just get rid of it...

HARAM not necessary PORK only. ARAK (alcoholic, drunk drinks) also HARAM. CUCUK Ciken is HARAM. STOLEN Vegie also HARAM. CAT also HARAM to eat.
Problem officer? So some of us Muslim just take a precaution to protect our Iman (believe), eventhough our prophet P.B.U.H say, when u not see it with your own eyes, leave the rest to Almighty GOD. As long as you wash the tools, it consider clean. But me though just play safe. Might go see see and talk talk only. Islam teach us to respect others.

Of course the host did but maybe the guest was still not convinced with his explanation. The host was disappointed because she wasn't just a random guest but someone who he had known for many years.

1. they're prohibited from consuming those in the prohibited lists. 2. having permitted cooked using a pot once used to cook prohibited is diff story.
some concerns on both. just ask them like u did solves the issue.
if u asked, the main one is 1. full-stop no 2 'probably' derived from years of improvising the original message in order for one to satisfy their heart.
and remember so many heart in this world so will be so many of no 2. luckily some with credibility groups those many and it become lesser its just a matter of soothing one's heart by not walking alone. no one wants to be alienated. no?

lol people used to be more considerate and open minded back then
Remember when KFC used to serve beer?
Kalau setakat benda2 camni korang nak samak, what about bank notes in circulation? Pork butcher pegang the notes with his hands and makes its way around.
How? Samak everything ke?
