Just received via sms:

Trade in yr old mobile phone at any Maxis Store for a new iPhone 7 on MaxisONE Plan, top up from as little as RM70. Promo ends 30NOV. T&Cs apply.

With this phone plan promo till 30Nov, I don't think Maxis is going to revise it's mop data at least in Nov.

Don't understand why want to wait to port, can always port now ma, if there are better deal then port back. It is so convenient now.
If you are using more than 5GB, then port out first. If you are not using more than 5GB, having more quota basically means ordering a lot of food but not eating it, might as well remain the amount of food and enjoy better taste one. IMHO.

To be honest, Celcom and Digi are not that far behind in term of network coverage and stability. With new spectrum allocation, other telcos are catching up and whether they like it or not, sooner or later Maxis has to join the price war.
