my only complaint is that maxis/hotlink do a deep research after the 1st incident to avoid being label as 'unfair'...as mentioned by another forumer..it's up to us to choose the telco and not the other way round.
*
Maybe they have already done their research and know that this new hotlink offer for the 4 states will not result in widespread negative customer impact. Time will tell.

Btw, me too seldom make calls and sms. The only different thing is I am #hotlink users.
No free weekend LTE and no Spotify premium. T.T Is your Spotify premium with limit validity / it need to subscribe pass only able to activate or it's permanent? I need Spotify too....
..
..
Yes, no use of more quota when you can't even spend it.
*
I have monthly 2GB data plan with my Hotlink Fast, it auto-renews as long as I have credit. I top one RM100 every 3 months, to be safe.

The Spotify Premium subscription auto-renews as long as the data plan is active, I believe. Yes, need to subscribe once using the Hotlink Red app. I believe this is a permanent freebie, as I don't see any expiry date in the offer. Have been enjoying this since I moved to Hotlink Fast.

The 2GB Youtube freebie needs to be activated manually every month, though.

What's the benefit of the #hotlink package over hotlink-fast, btw?

Just noticed this is Maxis thread and here we are talking about Hotlink, oops. blush.gif

haha, me too fixed top up rm100 every 3 months.

Oh, I thought the premium account can activate even though you did not subscribe any internet pass.
Too bad that it have to keep the data pass active in order to receive the premium account.

During last few months when I purchase the monthly pass(rm30) it did free Spotify premium account, but lately they have replaced this privilege with the free 2gb youtube.

Oh, the 2gb youtube have to activate manually? No wonder it deduct my data, when I streaming youtube.

I think he only advantage of #hotlink over hotlink fast should be the free social chat/ free basic internet. Not sure whether hotlink fast did provide the same benefit ? but in overall hotlink fast is definitely better.

That's why I am so pissed off, when I saw that Hotlink finally giving free calls, midnight data and fb data to #hotlink users.
At the end, it's limit states offer.  vmad.gif  Thinking to convert into hotlink fast, but afraid that it do not provide the free basic internet.
Btw, any charges for me to convert into hotlink fast?
*
Yes, spotify premium needs internet pass active, I think at least a 1GB package. I need high speed data but make 0 calls / sms so hotlink fast is best for me. I have another phone with maxis unlimited calls/sms + 20GB data plan for work so I call/sms out from that phone instead.

The 30 day 2GB youtube benefit needs to be activated via the *68# code, I do it after my monthly internet pass auto-renews.

Don't think hotlink fast has free basic internet. Do call Hotlink CS to check if there are charges to move between plans.

i'm a maxis hotlink rm 30 data user and today got calls from maxis giving out promotion rm 98 without contract. 24gb and unlimited calls, sms, whatsup.
But still, i'm very lite user. Normal month using like 2-3gb only for games.
tomorrow, the telemarketer will call me again since i said i'll check the plan 1st.
dun know if it worth it for me
*
Nice offer, but if I were in your shoes I will not accept. Because RM30 commitment per month will become RM98.

And 24GB + unlimited calls/sms are not big value items to a light user.

maxis offered me that package too. I've been using my maxis hotlink prepaid 10 years+ and being offered rm98 without contract.
i rejected the offer because monthly data around less than 500mb, office and home wifi all the time. only subscribe rm20/month of data plan of 500mb/month via hotlink.

any cheapest package maxis can offer? maybe below rm50/month since a bit troublesome to reload rm30 every month everytime my hotlink expired.
*
Wow RM20 for 500MB is really shocking!

I am on Hotlink Fast - I top up RM100 every 3 months or so via Maybank2U which feels not much different than paying postpaid bill.

Very light call/sms user, so all the credit goes to my monthly data package. RM30 for 2GB, then free 1GB LTE every Saturday and 1GB LTE every Sunday. 2GB free for Youtube for 30 days, plus free Spotify Premium account (worth RM10 or RM15, I think). More than enough data for me.

Deep inside my office building, I sit right in the middle, on the upper floor.

YMMV, some will say slow, some will say fast.

Received similar SMS on my Hotlink Fast number too. Maybe it's time to consider Apple Music for me.

*expensive RM 0.10 whistling.gif

Not RM15, I think. USD3.99 which is about RM16.50 now.

The family acccount is USD5.99 ~ RM25.

Still at least can try it free for 3 months, then decide.

Yes they still do that,
But....
Come on ler.... offer RM78 for 5gb data with contract
Maxis bosses don't know how to used google ka...
Digi offer RM50 for 10gb data and no contract
Even hotlink can give RM48 for 15gb data
http://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/fast.html

Maxis keep telling that they better in voice cal, no drop
For you info maxis, now my workplace start using whatsapp to communicate
Company also try to save cost on phone call
So data is more important to us now,
*
Hotlink user here, the 15GB for RM48 is not really true, there are caveats:

1. 5GB is actual data allocation
2. 1GB Saturday & 1 GB Sunday only for 4G usage. Drop to 3G and you'll use up your 5GB allocation
3. 2GB Youtube, but doesn't automatically renew. Have to activate manually after every 30 days

Data is more important than calls for me too. Hence why I have to stick with Maxis/Hotlink, sadly.

Celcom is slower everywhere I go and Digi doesn't seem to have as wide a 4G coverage as Maxis in Penang island for now.

with current celcom package, not sure it still worth to stay with Maxis..
RM128 for 10GB from Maxis vs RM80 for 10GB+10GB from Celcom..
thinking wanna port out to test for few month..
*
I had a similar thought too. So I tried celcom prepaid for a month.

Decided to stick with Maxis/Hotlink. My experience showed that maxis gave better coverage and data speeds in Penang island. Especially noticed that celcom was slow to switch from 3g to 4g and vice versa.

To hope for maxis to increase their data size, never praise them in the cyberspace openly eventhough you personally prefer maxis as your mobile carrier. Too much praises in the cyberspace will make them complacent and gives maxis wrong public perception that consumers still loyal to them eventhough they are more expensive.
As proven in this thread when every one raised their voices, Maxis succumbed to pressure and revised the MOP plan. So, be critical to Maxis now and keep the praises until Maxis match the competition. We are paying customers not maxis's shareholders.
*
Valid points. Maxis postpaid too expensive!

That's why I moved to Hotlink. They better buck up otherwise they'd be losing more and more customers.

Maxis really horrible. I have 2 sub lines under value plus family for 30 a month each. Today, my sublines received sms saying they will be moved to another plan. Will include 1gb data but will be charged at rm38.

The thing is my sublines do not need data. Forcing people to pay extra for something we do not need is really unethical. Different story if they maintain it at rm30 a month.
*
One of the reasons why I moved 2 of my maxis sublines to RedOne postpaid. Current offer of RM8 per mth.
