I'm from Sabah and now Maxis got special offer for all Sabah & Sarawak users and I don't know what exactly is the offer because Maxis is telling me there is a RM30 discount on my plan and my friend told me that Maxis told her the offer is 2GB extra data for her.

I'm very pissed off about Maxis earlier my friend decided to change her Maxis postpaid line to the Celcom postpaid plan which come with 10gb Data + unlimited calls. So once Celcom started to port her line, Maxis directly call my friend to counter offer her with this plan below

Offer 1 : Free Samsung Note 5 + RM 128 monthly + 5GB Data + Unlimited Calls & Sms + 2 Years Contract (She rejected this offer)
Offer 2 : RM 88 monthly + 8GB Data + Unlimited Calls & Sms + No Contract (She rejected this offer)
Offer 3 : RM 68 monthly + 5GB Data + Unlimited Calls & Sms + No Contract (She say consider first please call back after 1 hour)

1 Hour passed.....

Maxis called back and she reject one more time on that offer with the reason she promised Celcom to sign with them.

Once again maxis offer her with this

Offer 4 : RM 68 monthly + 7GB Data + Unlimited Calls & SMS + No Contract (and finally she say yes and proceed with this plan)

I'm so damn pissed when I heard this. I'm loyal Maxis customer for almost 10 Years with 5 Numbers under my IC and paying much more than my friend I didn't get such offer from Maxis and once I call them I questioned them about the plan that my friend received upon her termination and change to Celcom.

Maxis Customer Service buat bodoh there say they don't know anything about that and they can do nothing and can't give me the same offer. Maxis continue says that my friend is the selected customer group for this good plan. So I questioned again how do you guys do selection? If in terms of years staying with Maxis I'm more than her, if saying usage per month I also much more than my friend. So on what basis they select their customer that can entitled to such cheap plan? Is it base on customer group who wanted to terminate the service so they are selected and I need to perform termination on Maxis and change to Celcom only they can offer me? The CS keep saying no no no.. and continue say they can't do and dont know what can they do.

This is my main line plan

RM 188 monthly + 7GB Data + Unlimited Calls & Sms + No Contract

VS

RM 68 monthly + 7GB Data + Unlimited Calls & SMS + No Contract (My friend plan)

This stupid Maxis is treating their loyal customer like "Water Fish" / Idiot and I decided to quit this stupid Telco and also posting this so anyone is still using Maxis out there can read on how Maxis treating us like "Water Fish"

And there is special promotion for Sabah & Sarawak Maxis customer with RM30 discount on plan / 2GB extra data I don't know which one is true but both are telling by Maxis Customer Service. So if West Malaysian you felt unfair you can try to call Maxis and ask is this some kind of not so 1 Malaysia? Why East Malaysian getting better offer than West Malaysian.

No wonder Maxis boss can always remain at Malaysia top 3 richest man because there is too much "Water Fish" like us give donation to him.

Bye Maxis for letting me know how stupid am I this 10 years and how expensive you are.

called maxis again about balance to pay and check bill before i port out properly and I found that
my account still have a deposit of MYR 1200 inside.. I totally forgot about this deposit that I paid
many years ago. So I asked Maxis now all your plans don't require deposit anymore and why aren't
you refunding the old deposit to us? Maxis CS say you can only get refund up on your termination
of service with Maxis. I was like WTF now all no deposit but you still holding my money and don't want
to pay me back and say only terminate can refund deposit. FCK!


Update Again..

Just now went to settle my latest bill with Maxis so I can port out to Celcom and I heard the counter beside me porting in a digi customer and offering the RM68 plan with 5GB + Unlimited calls & sms. So I ask that counter CS what is with this RM68 plan then he say that this is the latest plan that Maxis going to launch tomorrow. Then I don't give shit about what he saying and left after I did my payment.

here is my new Celcom Sim Card! I don't give a shit if they really launch the RM68 plan tomorrow because they treated their customer like idiot and i don't feel like staying with this Maxis anymore.



Maxis! Give me my fucking deposit worth of RM1200.00 because you told me there is no way I can get back unless I terminate the service.

Maxis "Loyalty Department" CS just called and offer me the RM68 + 5+2GB(Sabah Sarawak Offer) + Unlimited Calls & Sms.

Then I questioned them that why I call in and request this promotion and I confirmed I'm a Maxis One Club Member + 10 years with Maxis why I dont entitle to this plan. They keep saying this is for invitation only.
And only for loyalty member. So once I asked again not because i ported out to Celcom so you give me this call? He answered NO with full confident.

So now they called me and counter offer me after I ported out to Celcom. So fucking efficient. When I reject the offer, they start defaming Celcom giving numbers don't know from where saying Celcom 4G Sucks.
Maxis is the best this and that.

After all the bullshits i got from them i insisted and say no. Then he sounds pretty pissed and ask WHY SIR WHY SIR.. I answered : Because I don't feel like staying with Maxis anymore you guys played with your loyal
customers. Then he started everything all over again..

I stop him halfway and say Decision Made. Bye Maxis. Then baru he gave up..

the number i got is from 03 2856 6000 which I Believe is their so called Loyalty Department. LOL!

anyone who want to try their luck can try calling this number and see if they can give you the same offer!

A lot of companies take loyal customers for granted.

What they want is to increase profit, so need new customers so they offer discounts.

What you should do, is to ask them discount for loyal customers. If don't have, say want speak to manager. If manager supervisor still say don't have, then cancel your account. You can try to do it online or via email and state clearly your reason of cancelling.
If they still muka tebal then you have to be prepared to walk the talk.

These companies are preying on loyal customers who malas to change to another company.

Already very disappointed to Maxis. I called 3 times today all CS say ok will refer to the telemarketing department and get back to me. But I never receive any offer still seems they are challenging their loyal customer to change telco. Sometimes will even think. One thing you can be sure. It's very competitive between those telco's.

A. Today, it might be telco A who has the best deal.
B. Tomorrow, it might be telco B.
C. After that, it could be telco C.

If you think you got a good deal now, it is likely to change in future.

It is true that existing customers often do not get offered the new attractive deals offered to new customers, and that tends to happen with most types of companies.

The question is whether it is worth your while to monitor these things, and take the time to work out whether it's better or worse in your case, and switch if not.

I have done it before, but realistically, in the longer term, there are not much difference between the telcos. Why? if they are consistently worse than the competitors, they will go out of business.

If there are NO OTHER TELCO's, we would not be having this discussion.

Because there is ANOTHER telco that is cheaper, they are trying to retain your business rather than lose to THE OTHER telco.

Now, trust me -- the other telco's are doing exactly the same thing. They are offering a cheaper price to attract you. Do you know they are also offering the same deal to all THEIR EXISTING CUSTOMERS? I suspect not.

At the end of the day, the customer decides.

But this Maxis now is giving some cheap deal to customer who decided to leave instead of other customer which using the same service in same company. And yes they are trying to retain their business rather than lose to the other telco, but if your customer found out you are giving such deal even you didnt announce it, why are you trying to deny it and not giving the same deal to your customer? being treated unfairly like this is totally nth to do with the telco to telco price war. it's how your company handling your customers.

Yeah, Maxis is like that, they will try to maximize the ARPU (average revenue per user). Like you loyal customers they will overcharge lo... because you were ok with it. Now that you realise they offer so much better deal to those who plan to port out, just vote with your feet and port out la...

I realised how Maxis SCREWS its loyal customers and REWARD not so loyal customers when a few friends mentioned that their old Maxis Mobile Broadband plan - you know, those 1GB for RM30/mth and comes with a dongle. When they wanted to cancel, Maxis countered with RM18/mth for the same plan, that was even cheaper than UMobile 1GB plan few years ago! And with Maxis's superior coverage and speed (few years ago, that is) it WAS a better deal than UMobile's.

They CAN offer better deals, but not for loyal 'water fish'.

BTW Telekom also do something similar for Streamyx customers who wanted to cancel their subscription, offer low low and free calls some more.

Just like in the job market it doesn't pay to be loyal to the employers, customers have to look out for themselves....

Lulz ts butthurt. Offer is for customer who is good paymaster, not only in maxis but other things as well such as cc. They all share in a centralised database so if maxis detect such port out they check centralised database if good paymaster they try to retain. No records they just let u go.

1. Spare a thought for the people working there and have to "deny it". It could be you, me, or anyone else, and the management have told them to just "do it". That's not an excuse, but it is reality.
2. I know, it seems unfair. Companies exists to make money, so there are very few companies that focus on earning less. That's reality again.
3. If there are no other cheaper telco's, we would not have this issue. You would have to stay with your existing telco, and pay through your nose.

U need to understand. The offer is not made by CS. There is a small dedicated team called the "save team" or something. Their job is to try retain customer, especially those who have been with them for a long time and got good paying records when they want to opt out from the company. If you don't do anything like that, you won't get any calls from them.

Sounds like something my colleague's wife situation. She also planned to transfer to Celcom and then received a call from Maxis to offer RM68 for 5GB plus unlimited calls.

What Maxis did was select damage limitation. I did not received any call nor sms asking if I want to port out few years ago. I guess they have been a lot more recently. I was pretty happy with DG50 with 3GB and 50(or was it 100) minutes. Then Celcom came and everything else was history. I was never happier. I used to pay RM100 (my wife iValue) plus my own RM108 (50 call plan plus 68 for 3GB).

I need to thank Maxis for making their 3G lines so freaking slow for the last few years. Otherwise I also wont find any excuse to change at all.

This was my experience :-

I tried to cancel the Maxis Mobile Broadband for an older not very tech savvy friend. He was paying cash and sometimes miss payment also.

At fist CS say will transfer to cancellation dept, ask if you ok (to check you really serious or not), then put you on hold, 10 secs later, same person came back, say no one in the cancellation dept picking up the call (really? serious?) then proceeds to offer the reduced payment plan for the exactly same benefits. Was paying RM30 for 1GB broadband, reduced to RM18. Friend say ok, so just accept.

Maxis line is good. No doubt about it. Why switch to other slower telco?

Frequent calls to 03 numbers for example, need unlimited calls. Not everyone stay in room with wifi like u. Salesmen, sales engineers, technicians, drivers etc need to call alot to office numbers.

If engaged, u need to wait on the line. Fark. use prepaid or postpaid with no free calls? U die.

The 4g shit? Think twice for those traveling most of the time and 4g sucks big farking time when u outskirt area / highways.

So whatsapp call / 4g not fully stable at the moment = forget about whatsapp calling 100%.

inside Kuching. in fact my surrounding area all got unifi box. but sadly this one Lorong to my house (got 2 bungalows n 2 unit of terrace housing) dont have telephone pole. tried to ask TM more than 5 times liao to connect telephone line to my housing area (which is literally just 100m away) but they dont want. fcuk me right? lol. tm monopolizes landed telephone service, but dont want to hold some sense of responsibility to connect people to its service solely owned by them.
well like i said, maxis offers the most stable 4g connection. i guess that leaves me with no choice.
