Forgot to mention, I've emailed Royal Kludge recently about their RC930-87, also a Topre clone with RGB but in TKL form, enquiring as to when we can expect a version 2 since the 104 key model already has a v2. FYI, RK is the cheapest Topre Clone (with RGB to boot!) available now

From what I can see on Taobao, prices range around RMB 450-550 excluding shipping. On aliexpress, lowest I've seen is going for USD126+ shipped for 55g RGB. Problem though is these are all very likely version 1. The main noticeable difference between v1 and v2 is the switch housing, translucent for v1, transparent for v2.

Seems there is a possibility of CM collaborating with Topre again soon with the latter making available latest sliders to the former. A Novatouch 2 in the making, with RGB perhaps?

Yeah, I agree. This is too expensive for a Topre clone. Only possible consolation is the hope that Korean quality is better than China?

So far, have yet to come across good deals for a Realforce 87U 55g on ebay

Thinking of getting my idle QFR-I with MX red modified with Zealios purple 62/65g but at USD1 per zealios, is damn expensive though

Any inputs/comments about Varmilo VA87M? Thinking of getting one with Gateron brown. Alas, not bangsawan enough to get it with alu casing though

Guys, for CM QFR-i, do I get PCB mounted switches or plate mounted switches for modding? Want to replace the existing red MX switches to something tactile eg MX clear or *gulp* Zealios purple 67g

Decided to live a little and joined this on Massdrop. After this, a Varmilo VA87M with Cherry MX clears.

EDIT : New drop level added for 500 sets, unlock for a further price reduction rclxm9.gif

You want tumpeng ape? The GMK carbon set? I won't recommend it as the value of 2 sets (I included the key tray option) will likely exceed RM1k, running the high likelihood of tax.

Got my Varmilo VA87M today. Configured with MX Clear, orange LED and two-tone PBT keycaps. From confirming my order and making payment on Wednesday, they shipped it the next day and my new baby arrived this afternoon.

Build quality, A+
