QUOTE(andyfriends @ Nov 17 2016, 09:33 AM) I have done mine at Regal Valet and they are professional and provide good after sales service. They are always willing to help if you have any issue after the coating. But bear in mind, actually whatever coating also need maintenance or good taking care even though they provide the 4 or 5 years warranty. I don't think there is any coating can survive permanent. Especially coating can not prevent water spot. This is just my research after done some online browsing. |

QUOTE(daymond85 @ Nov 12 2016, 01:28 PM) Today just finish my car wash! Really satisfied with meguiars products! wanna check with you, do you use quik detailer? just wondering the sequence of using the quik detailer and quik wax. After car wash with meguiars ultimate car wash, apply ultimate quik wax. My car now is smooth like silk. Quik wax is really good product to use in between every ultimate paste wax in 2 or 3 months time. Actually I am not really sure how to apply the quik wax, can see layers on my black car after the application even though i apply very thin layer only. for example the front car bonnet only spray 3 - 4 time. Quik Detailer will not have this issue. |

QUOTE(andyfriends @ Nov 21 2016, 10:38 PM) price for RV is more expensive. I done mine(M4 package) since august till now. Actually I went back twice to ask them settle some issue for me and they are willing to help without charges. I am not sure the partial recoating free service. For RV, they do apply back the coating for the area for free if polish work is required. at least I went through this twice. Can say most of the time they are willing to help. ceramic provides "partial recoating for free". e.g. got scratched etc but not RV. how long have you done yours and how is it now? And they have a activcare session(cost around RM500) for the outside and interior maintenance which include remove the swirl marks, light scratches and reapply the coating again if not mistaken. I think you will only need to do this if you have serious swirl or scratches issue on your car after apply the coating. RV is using GYEON(korean) product, can online do some research on the products. My friend has done coating for few cars by RV and the result are quite good. I can see one of his car still looks shinny after 3 years. However, this is just my experience with RV. Ceramic Pro is quite famous also and can see a lot peoples are using them. Maybe you can get some feedback from any of them first. Found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1ykNBdQK9A Btw, what car you are planning to coat? This post has been edited by sherman_h: Nov 24 2016, 11:22 PM |

QUOTE(derail @ Nov 23 2016, 06:07 PM) I used Ultimate Coat which is different from Easy Coat. Ultimate Coat is a version of Reload/Gyeon cure, and the car is parked outdoors. Wow that is impressive. Gyeon cure I think can't last that long. I use gyeon cure to topup my current coating. The protection was already mostly gone at the end of last month but still showing some sheeting, now the water sheeting is flat on most parts of the hood. |

QUOTE(derail @ Nov 25 2016, 07:36 AM) Not quite 2 months since it could be near the end of Sept (I lost my note when my disk failed so I can't find out the exact date) and its for the protection to completely be gone so that the water sheeting is completely flat(after a wash) which occurs . Re-applying every month would work well in my experience since the protection is still good and everything still smooth at that time. Right now, it needs a full clay/polish to remove dirt which has settled i n. Hi do you use fireball ultimate watersport remover before? Gyeon waterspot remover is much expensive.. Thinking to try this due to a lot of water spot build up on the car especially on the rear part of the car - rear windows, bonnet..Yes |

QUOTE(windskill @ Nov 25 2016, 02:16 PM) I think you should go ahead and give it a try for fireball waterspot remover (I do not own it though). Gyeon products are really overpriced and not everyone like us can really afford OK. any idea where to get beside the website below?https://www.fireballmalaysia.com/ |

QUOTE(gfwong @ Apr 2 2017, 09:43 PM) My 2 sen on glass care here. I am using the easy coat also, not really sure on the wiper juddering issue part as existing wiper already have the issue. And also not sure is due to my windscreen coating.I was testing out Fireball Premium Easy Coat earlier and got some of them on my windscreen that caused my wipers to jamming some funky disco moves! So I had to polish the windscreen and thought of sharing what I usually do with glass. The steps are just my personal preference. the dark stains and "bleeding" marks, don't really notice due to black color car:) will check on this later. But i think you apply way too much products in one session, I applied twice on my car, still left more than half bottles.. |

QUOTE(supersimple123 @ Apr 4 2017, 12:46 PM) To keep it simple.. yes. Agree on this. mine black color, minor swirl, holograms and scratches are very obvious for eye to spot... and also water spot as well... however, if you keep it well with wax or sealant, it will be super gloss and nice reflection...Hmm.. let me try to explain.. For solid white, keeping the paint clean (ie. black dirt/stain off) is what makes it look decent. Achieving a smooth glass like surface is not so a priority because swirls and scratches are harder to see. For grey/dark, in order to make it pop you need both a clean paint and a smooth glass like surface. A clean paint allows the the metallic flakes to shine thru better. A smooth glass like surface allows light to be reflected more uniformly across the surface of the paint... this is why swirls and scratches are more of a concern for dark paints. Effort wise.. if you spend 12 hours detailing, with both initial paint conditions being similar, the white paint does not really reflect the hours put in. So you can get away with less effort for white. |

QUOTE(blurcase @ Jul 13 2017, 05:42 PM) Yes, unfortunately water marks surprisingly tend to bake in quicker to coating than wax or bare paint. Even on wax also it is easier to manage because can re-wax and it should be fine. Unfortunately for coating I havent found anything that can be done other than just using more aggressive soap to wash it off and hope for the best. I thought only mine having this issue, seem like most of the coated cars also having this issue.I have not heard of any acid solution, but even if true also I probably wont do it as risk acid eating through the coating into the paint and other areas. From my knowledge, the common acid used to clean water marks from bathroom shower glass is vinegar, I had tried on my shower glass before but very limited effect. Yes, all solid colours and strong like red, blue, black, quite easy to see water marks, but dirt harder to see. In contrast, light colours like silver, white, light grey, champange, all harder to see water marks and defects, but light dirt becomes very obvious. Happen to me once, i parked my car under sun and rain for one week+ and only washed afterward. Surprisingly, the whole car was "coated" with watermarks, can't wash away. |
