Have anyone use Meguairs Hybrid Ceramic wax or turtle wax ice seal n shine ? At USA ... turtle wax is about USD 15 >RM63 and meguairs USD 25 > RM105 . But price in malaysia lazada Turtle wax RM109 more exp than Meguairs RM103 . I see review turtle wax last longer durability but tempting to get meguairs since is cheaper here . What do you think Meguairs vs turtle wax? in terms of deep colour, beads and durability last ?

Does Sonax brilliant shine detailer act same as meguairs hybrid ceramic wax and turtle wax ice seal n shine too?? ( not sure what the use of detailer)

Out of the 3, actually Meguiar's HCW was the 1st I came across, which was early this year. Having said that, I have tried asking several times on both their Lazada shop and own website, but their products are almost always out of stock. So I ended up getting the Turtlewax S&S. At the RM109 price you've came across too. I have tried both the S&S and Sonax BSD, and thus far, < 1 month of use & without any surface prep at all [i.e. claying], I can see impressive results in terms of the water beading properties after the rain.

Sonax BSD is quite expensive at almost RM150, so best to ask yourself - what is your budget for these detailers?

Fellow LYN sifus recommended me to get Osren Hydro Ceramic Shield and I also gotten myself a 1L bottle to try it out. So far I haven't had the opportunity to assess how effective it is but net result is you want your car to have some form of protection/gloss after you'd washed your ride and did some polishing/waxing. Plus, all 3 are considered spray waxes and speaking from experience, thus far the Sonax gives the most impressive water beading, followed by Turtlewax S&S.

I am using osren luminous coatz spray , the osren guy said that it is same as osren hydro ceramic shield but luminous is consumer product in smaller package. After 3 weeks still beads well. Next bottle i will try meguair HCW. I am planning to get cheap water wax that beads crazily well at 5 liters Rm100 at shopee but i wonder does it leave hard water marks after weeks no washing ?or should i get HCW easier to maintain i guess.

Yup you're right. Luminous range is more towards consumer-friendly range whilst the HCS isn't.

Wow, do let me know if you're able to get a bottle? I checked their Shopee site today and it's still out of stock for the HCW.

Wow, what wash is that - beads well. Haha. We all want a piece too!

Usually the beading will be amplified if proper coating/sealant is in place. And if regularly washed and 'topped' up with quick detailer, the effect should last a lil longer too.

Well need to finish my osren luminous coat first. Not sure its durability but been 3 weeks no wash..dirt is very minimum .My next purchase will be Rupes wool pads hehee.

Anyone does ipa wipedown before polish and compound? So do you need to Ipa wipe down or wash the car with shampoo again after polish and compound due to oily surface before applying sealant/wax?

Before compound/polish, no. The only thing that would be on my paint at that time is clay lube residue, which I dont think its a big issue.

After compound/polish, yes. Remove polish oils so that sealant/wax have naked surface for adhesion.

okay noted . Now all the hype on liquid sealant/ceramic/waxes/siO2 . What about nano coatings, any recommendations reliable 9h coating for home DIY ?

Do you park your car outside of your house? Most of my neighbour's cars park outside every morning their windscreen full of moisture and due to haze recently very dirty caused the dotted stains after dried i guess . If u park inside the house usually no moisture during morning .

Any recommendations for budget diy coating products?

I cant afford expensive ones, maybe product range around 100+ that is better than nothing
*
If you want budget ceramic coating, you can try securetech coating around Rm90 or if you have higher budget go for car pro cquartz lite around Rm250 . If you want hassle free and easy to use product.. Turtle wax seal n shine is very good and can last for months smile.gif

Ok, seems I've misread the instructions. It says for the initial application, apply when car is wet

"After washing the vehicle thoroughly, & before drying, spray Hybrid Ceramic Wax across all exterior surfaces."

https://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthrea...rid-Ceramic-Wax!

I did it when car was completely dry...

I'll probably give it another try...  hmm.gif

I went to meguairs warehouse yesterday, the guy said that hcw will be very visible streaks for dry application on dark colour cars. Yes dry application will last longer , he said just make sure buff with damp cloth or moisture the surface abit and then dry with second cloth in cool working environment. After dry application cure about 1 day(i guess) and your next car wash , you may just spray on wet surface , and buff it off or just rinse all the residue without buffing . The staff told me that hcw sio2 properties will fully activated if contact with water . Hcw is kinda thick and streaks occur due to not fully remove or wipe off the residue .. this is why in meguairs youtube hcw just spray on wet surface , leave for a minute and use pressure wash to blast off all the residue and streak free.

Nice work. Any polishing done before coat? How long you wait before coating the second coat?
*
Yes the car been prep before Ceramic coating :
Day 1
1) Wash/clean
2) Ironx / tar remover
3) Wash and clay bar

Day 2
4) Compound with Rupes Woolpad
5) Polish with Dual action polisher
6) Ipa wipe to remove polish oils (Alcohol mixture with water )
7) Ceramic Coating whole car include rims biggrin.gif

Day 3 (24hours curing)
8) Add a layer of sio2 osren coatz (no wax)

Second coat applied after 1 hour and then after 24 hours curing added osren luminous coatz to protect the coating curing incase of raining etc . Within 7 days the car must not wash with any soap or ph balance soap , only rinse with clean water and dry with microfiber immediate to prevent hard water spots to ensure the coating long lasting !
