Turtle wax ice premium care paste wax (applied on the driver side of the car)

Vs

Sonax xtream brilliant shine detailer spray wax. (Applied on the passenger side of the car)

After 1 month, this is the result.
Water beading on the Turtle wax side is more tighter than the Sonax side.

both look good. Did you do any BSD over ICE? that would be interesting.

When you're done with the test. Can you do a QD or IPA wipe to see which side attracted/embedded more dirt... Thanks.
*
No I didn't, both ICE and BSD applied directly to the bare paint surface.
I have another car coated with the Sonax Polymer Netshield for the past 2 months. I will share the water beading picture next week for the forum to judge its durability.

Well...these 3 are modern synthetics so should last quite a bit...they have great reputation for beading/durability anyway...

I tested an old wax rain hop vs extreme shield...durability and beading aside the wax attracted more dirt and is less easy to clean...so that was defining

The extreme shield is also tacky/grippy like BSD/PNS...I'm guessing it has comparable formulation and it's my plan to extend it with BSD

if you wish I can give you some extreme shield to test with PNS...

Sonax BSD and TW ICE Paste wax is super sleek and smooth. Can't even place my phone (with TPU back cover) on the hood. Easy to dust off and wipe dry.
Sonax Polymer Netshield on the other hand is tacky/grippy. I don't really like it. I will try to top up a layer of BSD or ICE on my next test and see how it feels.

Guys need serious help...T_T

I tried applying some left over "supposing-ly" nano ceramic coating for the car, which I don't think has an expiry date, on top of my poor application skills, I now have streaks of uneven coating on my car hood.

*Prep work is done nicely, so it has nothing to do with impurities.

Noticed and immediately stopped what I was doing. Tried applying second layer aiming to fill gaps between streaks, not working.

What are my options.....car hood looks smudgy ugly streaky and all...T_T...Should not have tried to save some bucks.

Polish it up as soon as possible rather then waiting for it to fully cured.

I will post up a pic when I can.

Anyway polishing isn't helping. I'm thinking of wet sanding now. Damn.
*
Wet sanding too abrasive ! Try rubbing compound first.

Thanks waragem n zheilwane.

I just went to Tesco this morning. Still no clay bar lor.

What the heck happened actually? Is this item very special one, really hard to get. Haiyaaaa....
*
Aeon and Ace Hardware should have.
A little tip for the clay bar, cut the bar to two and use half piece to clay your car. When the surface of the clay gets dirty, DON'T FOLD up the dirty surface, instead, use a box knife to slice off a thin layer of the dirty surface and reveal a fresh clean surface. With that, you are assured of 90% contaminant free clay bar. Once the bar getting smaller, top up the clay from the other half piece. Don't throw away the dirty cut clay, just accumulate it and it still can be used for one last time for dirties area like the rocker panel (panel underneath the side doors), lower bumper, etc.

Original 3M clay bar is very expensive, those cheap 3M clay bars are definitely fakes.

so no 1 using coating? I think those who coated their car didnt have to search for wax and etc, thatz y not replying to this thread haha

In my opinion, coating still need routine maintenance similar to that of non coating, the difference is you need to maintain your coating instead of car paintwork, you must use only specific detailer in order not to ruin your coating, if kena light scratches, non coating car can DIY with any scratch remover + sealer/wax but you must go back to the coating shop to top up the coat after scratch removal. Same hassle as the conventional way of paint protect but more expensive.
Also, coating can't protect paint work from fine stone chips, if I must spend this few thousands RM, I might as well invest the money on whole body 3M clear vinyl wrap which offers better resistance to small stone chips.

Although the fusso coat's hydrophobic properties is very good (it is my 1st wax), but i never use it on my car anymore...1st it is really hard to apply, 2nd the leftover or residue is too much until it will make ur trim faded(or to say gt white color), 3rd it didnt enhance the shining of the car so much, it more on water beading and sheeting...so if u prefer durability go for fusso coat, if u prefer shining go for carnauba wax...and oso, sealant and wax is 2 diferent thing though, so ahrd to compare...what i do is put sealant 1st then put another layer of carnauba wax to top up...so it will become durable and shining...(dunno correct or not)..lol
*
For long lasting durability + *easy to buff off + shining & sleek surface + won't stain the black rubber trim, I would say Turtle wax ICE series premium paste wax. You can even wax on the trim to protect and enhance the colour of the trim.
It can last up to 6months in my case. (Parked on the porch most of the time).
Very tight water beading for the first few months then sheeting for the remaining months before the wax wear off.
I would like to know if any car owner who park his car in the open 24/7 to test out this product and give a review on how long this product can last under harsh weather conditions.
